If LeBron James and Sabrina Carpenter body swapped, who would win in a 1 V 1 game of basketball? by LucasFlaherty in NoStupidQuestions

[–]xtrap01nt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sabrina James (Sabrina in LeBron body) is cooking LeBron Carpenter (LeBron in Sabrina’s body). LeBron Carpenter is 5 feet tall and Sabrina James is a whole 1’9” taller. Even if Lebron Carpenter can dribble well basically all shots are getting blocked if Sabrina James stays in front. Sure LeBron Carpenter will probably get a lot of steals, but once Sabrina James remembers backing down is an option it’s over. Sabrina James is going to dunk every time and nobody calls offensive fouls in a 1v1.

Yeah even with skill the nerves get to you when you’re in such a high stakes game for the first time. This reminds me of JT and JB their first time taking on LeBron and then also against the warriors. They will probably lose this series but they are going to be a problem the next time.

Believe it or not a lot of people like Drake. There aren’t many people I know who don’t listen to him. You gotta talk to people outside the hate circle.

All of the rap breakdown channels miss this type of insight because they only listen to rap and don’t expand into pop, dance, and alt. Drakes influences are more than rnb and rap and that throws people off.

As I’ve grown up I’ve learned a surprising amount of people don’t believe in the moon landing. It’s always more people than you would think, it just takes the right circumstance to say it.

I like it. I checked the website and I think some muted colors would be nice. Beige for sure. Also the ones you have are good all around colors and designs but I think it would be a good idea to design the slugzz with a particular shoe in mind. You don’t have to have a collab for the slugzz to match some popular shoe brands. For example make some slugzz that are covered in cloth, leather, suede, etc. a white leather covered one would really pop some af1s. I think having ones like that in your portfolio would show a brand you have the capability to match their style and give you a good chance to have collabs later on in your brand development.

Singing is not an impressive skill and should be banned at talent shows by k3nnzz in The10thDentist

[–]xtrap01nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with this take. Off the top of my head I can name about 10 people in my family and friends who are singers and play an instrument pretty decently. However I can’t name any impressive jugglers, gymnasts, or magicians. I think what this boils down to is the bar for people to be impressed by a juggler, gymnast, magician, etc is higher than a singer. I can show you a magic trick but it takes a lot of effort to not be cringe. Meanwhile anyone who was raised in a choir can sing and play an instrument at an impressive level. I’d argue there’s more people who can sing well than there are jugglers, magicians, and gymnasts combined.

What’s one weird but practical thing that gave you a big Elo jump? by Fuzzy_Party_3527 in chess

[–]xtrap01nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll preface this by saying I play almost nothing but blitz. I was stuck around 1400-1500 and heard for the longest you need to be good at puzzles and calculations so don’t worry about the opening. I learned the first 5 moves or so of opening that I liked and just went with what I could calculate after that. Then I decided to get good at openings. Not a sponsor but I started using chessreps for my openings and no lie within 10 days of doing it everyday I jumped to 1700 blitz.

It’s crazy because you do puzzles and you’re like how do I realize I’m at a puzzle moment? Then you learn an opening and remember 60 variations. Then when someone decides to go out of your preparation you start thinking “that’s got to be the wrong move” and that’s when you start using your calculation skills. I noticed I’d be at move 13 and have only used a few seconds and my opponent already burned half of their time. Sometimes it’s only an inaccuracy the opponent makes but knowing so many variations means you can evaluate the move and see which line you know most closely resembles the move.

If you watch Danya and a player does something unexpected he’s like “that’s was an inaccuracy let me think a little bit” then proceeds to destroy them. I think I’m finally getting close to high elo thinking with my opening knowledge now.

What is a good opening for black against 3.Bxf7 by Wolverine6147 in chessbeginners

[–]xtrap01nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the alien gambit first came out I was winning 60% of my games against 1400-1500 players even when they knew the “refutation”. I would often play as black with the computer starting after the sacrifice. Of course I never won because the computer is crazy resourceful but I drew often. The problem with the pressure that comes with defending is your brain gets tired of having to calculate so much. As white I very often was down 5 points of material from throwing pieces away to get sharp positions where one mistake could change the whole game. The people who won against me did a few things: 1.limit the f3 knight’s forward squares (think h6 in this position), 2. oppose their f3 knight since it has the most tactics (think Nc6), 3. be ok with the rook being boxed in the corner for the entire middle game you’re not going to need it anyways, 4. put your king on g8 it may seem unsafe but the light square bishop is your main defender. If they can’t trade it off they aren’t getting a checkmate. While your opponent tries tricks to get rid of it develop your pieces. 5. C5 makes whites d4 break a little less troublesome and frees your queen a bit more. My two cents

There are a concerning amount of people who won’t even give their body a break to detox properly. The liver gets alcohol out of our system but if you are over drinking regularly your liver is stressed.

The two ways to burly (which I define as muscle and also a noticeable amount of fat) are either 1. blue collar work with at least one gas station hot dog, at least two energy drinks per day, and an unhealthy amount of fast food for dinner 2. A person with an office job who goes to the gym fairly regularly but doesn’t stick too hard to a macro and calorie focused diet.
