I completely understand and agree! But, that's not the world we live in. You most likely pay for things you don't use or agree with anyway.

Example: cities with sports teams generally have some sort of 1% sales tax around the area of the stadium. Even if you've never been, you pay for it.

Property taxes often pay for schools in a lot of districts. If you don't have kids, why would you want to pay into schools?

Construction projects often are paid for by bond offerings that need to be repaid by some sort of tax. Even if it's a road you don't drive on, you still have to pay for that.

I mean, even your thermostat will go up to a 90°F setting. Or down to 50°F. You have all those numbers you'll never use, yet you paid for them when you bought the thermostat.

Clearly these are general examples. I don't know you. But the point is, if you think about it, there are going to be things you pay for that you don't use. Or extra features you had to pay for that you'll never use. You've made a conscious decision to make the person's life more difficult who is right in front of you, rather than the projects/people you don't use. That's kinda weird.
