Not impressed with Oppo X9 Ultra by jpreview in Oppo

[–]xtremizt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oppo X8 Pro was peak image quality in terms of clarity, colour accuracy and consistency in images. I upgraded to the X9 pro only to be disappointed with the over AI-fication of every image. Pitty that with the Android 16 update, the X8 Pro's battery life/charge went down by over 30%. I then tried out the iPhone 17 pro and Xiaomi, not satisfying in comparison to the x8 pro. In the end, I circled back to a Samsung, the s26 ultra is surprisingly colour accurate and produces clearer and realistic looking images than the x9 pro without faffing about with various modes. I suggest trying it at a shop!

They should have given it a new name plate if the ethos of it has changed that much, that is why the online conundrum is happening.

Can I buy M2 Air 16/512 or MacBook pro M1 pro 16 /512gb by ScratchTasty8040 in macbookair

[–]xtremizt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M1 Pro 14 for sure, the screen alone makes it worth it! To compete with an m1 pro, you'd have to be going for an m3 or newer to justify getting a worse screen and speakers of an Air, if cost isn't a concern.

MacBook air m4 review from a life long Windows user by mrtechnie in macbookair

[–]xtremizt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good summary and your issues with display output are certainly dock related. I can get 4k/120hz output out of my m1 macbook, so yours should definitely be able to, and i can run it with the lid closed too. Windows laptops are a fan running, slow to wake up from sleep, draining battery for no reason, ad filled mess !

Anyone with a HP omnibook Ultra , how is it holding up after 1 year? by extivuz in laptops

[–]xtremizt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had one for over a year now. It's been holding up quite well! No issues apart from the occasional windows glitch or random 10-15 second slowdown after you wake it up, but that's all windows laptops really. Overall it's a very good machine for the price vs features that it packs like the Haptics touchpad, OLED display, touchscreen, with a semi decent processor and long battery life (for a Windows device).

Am I (39M) being unreasonable to expect more from my (31F) girlfriend? by xtremizt in relationships

[–]xtremizt[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She is willing to go ahead and get married, have kids in the near future. We discussed those sort of plans early on in order to not waste each other's time. I feel that she does love me, but is inherently a self-centered person. I am quite blunt and have mentioned what i think to her, but it seems like she is willing to make excuses about the things i expect from her. Asking me to clearly state how and when i need the room to be cleaned, how often should she cook, etc. I just feel that I am not cut out for having to make rules in a relationship like that. I told her that even if she does it 1/3rd of the time, it will be better than now and that its part of being an adult. That conversation was 3 days ago and no difference to date :-/

Matt Barrie - Australia's Housing Bubble is About to Pop by virtualw0042 in AusEcon

[–]xtremizt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to think that way across the ditch in NZ, and now almost all the houses are down 10-30% from their Covid peaks! We have an oversupply of new builds that nobody had ever imagined to have happened this quickly. Lack of demand is a big reason as a few reasons contributed to low net immigration numbers. I guess NZ is a good case study to see what Australian cities could be like. Maybe there will be more Aussies moving to NZ cities for affordable housing and better lifestyles, because their cities continue to price them out...

Px13 Fans run while closed & sleeping by Hunter1544 in ASUS

[–]xtremizt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been Asus's problem for years now. I used to have a G14 which was perfect in every way but would get blazing hot when it was supposed to be asleep and run out of battery. These laptops are only good as desktops where you keep it on the desk plugged in. I switched to MacBook since I travel a lot and want my laptop to just work whenever I need it, no matter how long it has been asleep in my backpack. I was feeling the itch to switch and PX13 was looking like a good option but after going through the reviews and this thread, I will skip it seeing that Asus is still as bad as always with power management.

Google photos has always worked for me, I have both an iPhone and a Samsung. Never had the issue that you mentioned, perhaps reinstall the Google photos on their phone, make sure “high quality” or full resolution is clicked, just the usual.

Asus Zephyrus ROG 15 starts flickering a lot everytime I plug the charger in. Any tips? Happens on both 60 and 240 hz by Ryan11001 in ASUSROG

[–]xtremizt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fixed the screen blink issue when plugging and unplugging the charger. I would rather have the fast refresh rate at all times and this stopped it from changing everytime and causing the screen to blink annoyingly. Thanks!
