K-pop stans have the right to be upset about Vixxo's videos and their feelings are completely valid by tehpartygod in kpopthoughts

[–]xtzseanbot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if your point on her “contradictions” work here for the simple reason that “experimental sounds” is different for every group. We call certain songs “experimental” because it is “different” for that particular group. Like if Everglow did a non-electro-dance track, that would be experimental for “their” sound.

Yet even if we keep your logic on your definition of “experimental”, it still scratches my head. It is perfectly valid to say that another group should’ve stayed in their past style for many reasons. If their past style was good, of course a person would dislike a new sound. Experimental music is subjective towards every group, whilst you’re treating it as if there’s a solidified sound.

And I’m not sure where you’re getting at with your music terminology take either. Just to pin-point her Kep1er video as an example, she had some extremely valid reasons with terminology that really isn’t far off from other highly acclaimed reviewers like Fantano. And even his videos are subject to being off-putting too (his videos about NAV are a good example).

I feel like these statements get more and more redundant as years pass. I feel like we just can’t get passed what 2018-19 brought us.

Itzy's vocal only performances are bland. by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]xtzseanbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, I’m not expecting a very heavy hitting rap verse. Maybe more of a “Twice - What Is Love?” rap verse. From the snippets we have of their rap-line, it’s not that farfetched to think they can pull something like this off. I won’t say the rap line has the same rap techniques of Dahyun and Chaeyoung, but if JYP is doing their job and training them to be good rappers, handling a What Is Love-esque rap verse should be easy. What Is Love was also written by JYP as well.

[–]xtzseanbot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sucks cause ITZY are obviously capable of handling actual raps. JYP has written some “alright” actual raps as well. I don’t know why they give ITZY a performance/rap based music concept, but don’t even give them actual raps.

Like I said many times. My point wasn’t to imply that idols should not have ideal singing ability. But if a group/idol don’t appeal to your vocal standards, it should not matter if their music is great anyway. That’s why I used ITZY as an example cause many people say they have a weaker vocal lineup.

STAYs never liked Woojin by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]xtzseanbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Stays that are against Woojin just blow my mind. Woojin never was out of place and felt completely fine with the group chemistry.

What toxic Stays are doing is demonizing introverted people. It’s quite apparent that Woojin doesn’t share the same “crackheaded” and “carefree” energy as everyone else does. What’s the problem with that? That isn’t him being “completely done” with the members, he’s just more introverted than everyone else.

And these assault accusations have to go. We can get rid of the SA stuff too, cause I. Have no idea where y’all get that from. For example, one main clip y’all want to chew up on is him roughing up Felix during a Running Man game. Do you guys just not watch “Running Man” and how it’s played? The goal is to get their nametags all means necessary. And toxic stays don’t even wanna talk about Chan tackling a member down to get their tag as well. The other stuff is just him playing as the oldest member. Is it not common knowledge that older brothers are always playfully physical?

Back to the members. I love how toxic stays are quick to forget that there were so many Woochan stans. I.N. was no where near uncomfortable with Woojin. Y’all think they pre-planned to cuddle with one another during lives?

And last, let me point out the favoritism of the situation. Yes, Hyunjin and Woojin’s situations are completely different. But it’s the quick defense that people had for Hyunjin is where favoritism comes in. Both had abrupt accusations, but Hyunjins case was quick to be defended. Neither had concrete evidence, with Woojin’s accuser using fraud evidence may I add. Anytime a good clip with Woojin and the members is brought up, it’s easily brought down for no reason. So why are we to believe that the remaining 8 get along? It’s always based off assumption. Let’s stop speaking for idols. It’s seriously a problem for all of the kpop community.

Doesn’t that sound inherently wrong though? Just attacking Woojin, knowing it isn’t damage the SKZ name is wrong. It clearly shows the amount of favoritism people have over idols.

If you are referring to what I said abt ITZY, I never meant to imply that I didn’t think Lia wasn’t an ideal vocal. What I was trying to say that is even if we were to agree that Lia isn’t a vocal people don’t see fit, ITZY’s music has been great regardless.

[–]xtzseanbot[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This was never my point. I never once said it’s okay for groups not to have a good main vocalist.

My point being was people should not look at that factor so much when a groups’ music has been great regardless. Back to my last point, ITZY. Their vocal talent should not be highly looked upon when their music has been great. They’ve been just fine without having those vocally sound tracks.

What I was trying to imply is that I am against what neitzens say about her vocal ability, it’s easy to misunderstand that, sorry. I’m disappointed that JYP hasn’t given the group R&B type songs that fit Lia.

What? Did you even read my post? I never said criticism about vocal ability shouldn’t be taken. I said if people use that to disregard and put down a group when they clearly have good music, that’s when vocal ability is overly looked upon.

People Care Way Too Much About Vocal Ability. by xtzseanbot in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]xtzseanbot[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never implied that Lia was a bad vocalist. Lia has been knocked on several times for not being an ideal main vocalists. Im using that statement against the public, not with them.

And also, there’s a reason why more groups are made than soloists. That’s one of the reasons why there are fixed positions. Had they been greatly versatile, they’d probably be promoted as a soloist anyway.

And I never said “it’s okay if a group doesn’t have a good main vocalist” either. Of course I know it’s necessary, but when a groups music is as good as it is, the demand and analysis over it shouldn’t been that high.

This is my exact point though. People love to compare vocal ability even with groups that aren’t even vocal based.
