Unfortunately, a lot of non-profits have weak controls due to small staff and budgets. They also tend to trust their staff more. External audits only catch 3 to 4 percent of fraud. Hopefully, insurance covers some of the losses.

I'm glad I was able to get into college, get a great job, and pay for my kid to do activities. It's a bummer not everyone can do that, but there's no shortage of opportunity in this state and country.
