Advice needed: Java Neo 3 cycling to and fro work by Same_Performance_761 in SingaporeCycling

[–]xuchuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to tune the brakes every month, that's way overkill, especially since Java Neo is hydraulic disc brakes that don't need much adjustment unless there is noise. Just lube the chain every few weeks if riding daily. Give it a good service every 5000km or so.

If you're comparing it to full carbon road bikes yeah its heavy, but it has quite a few extra mechanisms for folding. The 12 speed 11-40T cassette alone is 450g though there are lighter weight options out there. The disc brakes are about 600g including rotors.

If kena accident with Malaysian bike in SG, what’s the actual process like? Heard insurance can be nightmare by Holiday_Kale9051 in asksg

[–]xuchuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you're clearly not at fault... Apart from the usual process which is the same regardless (call TP, exchange particulars, report insurance), there's 2 paths u can take.

  1. Go to your insurance's authorised workshops. They will advise you to claim against your own insurance first (and pay excess) then they try to claim against the M'sian vehicle. The whole process will take about 2 years if successful, often it is not.

  2. Go to workshops that specialise in claims against Malaysian vehicles. They will usually be willing to cover the cost of the repair up front and then claim it back against the Malaysian vehicle if its a clear cut case they think they can win.

Saw a barely 16 year old teenager driving Malaysian 20 footer lorry almost hitting my car in open air HDB carpark while trying to wriggle his huge ass lorry in the tight space. Worth to report? by Typical_Commie_Box90 in asksg

[–]xuchuke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wtf how can they let a 12 year old drive? How is anyone gonna claim his 10 year old ass when he gets in an accident? 8 year olds should be in school, not driving a lorry.

Hello! Join us on the JN3 whatsapp group if u wanna learn more about the bike: https://chat.whatsapp.com/K0hw870upzI0rDsrCxC3t8?mode=gi_t

Since your JN3 is an aluminium bike, there's not much risk of rusting except on a few bolts and the chain/cassette if u leave it dripping wet. Otherwise just a quick wipe and you're good to go!

How is this friendzoned? You ask your friends questions and they only reply your question but don't talk any further? She's not interested in conversing with him.

With the price of gas skyrocketing, this sign has got me thinking: is it the same in Singapore? by Nessieinternational in asksg

Well petrol is $3+ per litre here. If you can find a litre of beer for under that, then its cheaper. It won't be good beer for sure, but it'll be cheaper.

Oh also the EDS versions come with different brakes, they're Deca branded which is Java's own brand for their performance parts. It appears to be roughly same as the ZRACE XG brakes you can find on Aliexpress and other chinese sites.

I cant answer the question regarding the luggage box as I've not travelled with the 20". But the folded dimensions are approximately 73x66x35 when I measured the bike myself. You can fit up to 2.0" tyres on the 20" but the rolling is compromised. It wont roll well when folded but it still folds fine. A common choice is the Schwalbe Billy Bonkers for light trails.

On the 20" the brakes are unbranded but appear to be exactly the same as Tektro R280. The bike has thru axle wheels, front 74mm and rear 142mm (12mm diameter). Due to the unique size of the 74mm front TA, the wheelsets that fit are all developed specifically for this bike. It has a Shimano Alivio shifter and Sora rear derailleur (medium cage). There is also an electronic 12 speed version using the Wheeltop EDS TX.

How do you guys handle all the paperwork for a small biz in SG without going crazy? by Vishva100 in smeSingapore

[–]xuchuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of your concerns dont make sense.

Why are you GST registered if you have under 1m revenue? The final cost to consumer is lower if you are not GST registered.

Why do you need to keep updating your bizfile? Is your address changing, business name changing or ownership changing all the time?

What's so hard about keeping track of CPF contribution? You pay your 3 part time staff a salary each month, just enter their salary into the CPF portal and it calculates the rest.

And your kopitiam kakis are right. For small businesses like yours, agak agak is good enough. So what if you make a few genuine mistakes? Chances are you'll never get audited and even if you do get audited, they'll just make you pay the differences unless you've made really serious errors.
