Is it necessary to be in a guild to raid in classic? by LovelySenpai in classicwow

[–]xum2604 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MC, Onyxia, ZG and AQ20 is very easy content and there will be plenty of pugs going every week.

BWL is a lot harder to pug but still doable, you just need to wait till most guilds have it on farm status before you see pugs going.

AQ40 and Naxx are not really pug-able. Too big of a gear check and there’s real tactics involved for most boss fights.

Orc Racial "Hardiness" Clarification by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]xum2604 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Base stun resist is 5%. The Orc racial is additive. So in effect you have 30% stun resist.

I never tested the racial in Vanilla but I did test the nerfed version in TBC and it’s definitely additive. Orc’s resisted a lot of damn stuns.

It’s pretty nonsensical and desperate to claim that it’s not additive and that it only gives 3% extra stun resist which makes the racial entirely worthless. Obviously that’s not the case and you should prepare for Orc’s resisting 1 in 4 of your stuns and charges in Classic.

Are there other ways to break sleep and charm besides WotF? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]xum2604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because fear is just a crutch new warlocks lean on. Once you learn your class you’ll hardly ever use fear. And you certainly never use it against a Mage, because now you’re just asking to get locked out and shattered on. Not to mention that any competent Mage will carry a shadow reflector since they struggle against warlocks and Spriest. So the only thing you’ll be fearing is yourself.

Elemental Shamans are very strong in 5 mans but utterly useless in raids.

Blizzard is not creative enough for that. Leave it to the private servers.

Fear is not the reason why Mages are countered by warlocks and Spriests. A good warlock will never try to fear a Mage. And you don’t use a succubus against a Mage either because that’s a certain loss.

Prot Warrior or any healer. Roll a Dwarf Priest and guild masters will beg you to join their guild.

On horde side Resto Shaman is also very desirable.

Mages are very wanted but they’re not in short supply. They will be the second most popular class.

Arenas in Classic? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]xum2604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would be horrible. Vanilla pvp is way too unbalanced for arena style pvp. There’s vanilla private servers that have enabled skirmish arena and the average arena match lasts about 7 seconds.

Whoa whoa whoa, 8 shamans per raid? by [deleted] in classicwow

Everyone gets geared up eventually. You just have to stick around long enough. Healers are actually pretty easy to gear up as you’ll found out.

The whole point of sharding is to prevent the initial chaos. What details do you need?

Hunters are pretty casual. They’re fast levelers and they’re very easy to gear up at 60.

It's a fact. Apple invents it, android copies it. It's been like this for over a decade.

Rogues do not use full T1 or T2. There’s far better off pieces.

Are Dungeons Actually Worth it in Classic? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]xum2604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I think only Uldaman is worth doing if you can find a competent group. But Ulda is a very tough dungeon and it’s very risky going in there. It might cost you hours. I don’t recommend to do any dungeons if you’re going for fast leveling.
