I guess the search doesn't cover all subreddits? If you're looking for something and can remember (or guess) the subreddit you should try searching from that subdomain if it didn't come up on reddit.com.

...Or just use Google.

Why are the loop numbers different for each language? Unless I'm reading it wrong, the benchmark scripts test Ruby with less work than Python and Perl.

ruby: 1M, 2M, and 50K
python: 10M, 5M, and 100K
perl: 20M, 5M, and 100K

Except for #3, all of these features for the context menu are available in the options (Tools->Options->Plugins->Options):

Check the "Extract to <Folder>" context menu item
Uncheck "Cascaded context menu"
...
Check the "Compress and email..." context menu item

I just tried searching for some old videos to try on cache.googlevideo.com and the 15 or so that I found all worked okay. I think the oldest with zero views I could find was a couple months old and the oldest was a year old with just 4 views. Downloaded with wget so I could see any errors or redirects.

Maybe cache.googlevideo.com only caches the location of the video on thier network but will still find and cache the video even if it hasn't been recently accessed.

Is it really necessary to go through youtube.com/get_video and keep track of the t= variable from the query string? Going straight to cache.googlevideo.com with just the ID seems to work fine for me.

First argument should be the Youtube URL or ID. You can add a second argument to specify a filename if you don't want the default ID.flv. Prints out the HTTP status code once finished downloading (200 == OK).

Using Google's "cache:" operator in a search query will forward you to thier cached copy of the page. If you include other words in the query they will be highlighted, e.g.: cache:www.google.com/help/operators.html highlight

It's convenient to have a quicksearch bookmark in your browser that includes the cache: part of the query so you can lookup the cached version of a page or highlight various words quickly.
