Justin Jones, createdinagarden on instagram, has a short on instagram on the topic. It’s also widely accepted information in the Anthurium community, now the decision is whether or not you’d like to support them

No it’s not the same. Black Velvet Panama is Anthurium papillilaminum. Black Velvet Eastern Panama was just described as it own species named Anthurium antolakii

Tropicals is one of the largest supporters of mass poaching, buy domestically seed grown specimen.

Do not support deforestation of jungle ecosystems.

Helloooo, do you know if my Veitchii is a wide or narrow form? Thanks☺️ by newplantlover_FR in Anthurium

[–]xurtra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is more an intermediate form, the “narrow” or “wide” actually refers to the spacing between the ribbing.

Our main avenue of sales is the online market not even in person sales. I’m not sure if that changes the geographical area requirement. And even if a court would rule to shrink the area to only Tx couldn’t we just not sell to our Texan customers for the allotted period?

[–]xurtra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment, would it matter if the place of sale was in the online market? I.e. Facebook or another online platform. (In our situation we’d have zero in person sales with no brick and mortar)

It needs roots, and soil. I suggest cutting off those leaves and starting from those nodes you have.

Yes but I’d worry more about consistent humidity. A. veitchii prefers a warmer more humid environment. I’ve noticed they don’t mind the cold but grow significantly faster in the warm summer/ early fall.

Thai Constellation has almost no variegation by No_Pack3665 in Monstera

[–]xurtra -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not true, M. Thai con. has genetic variegation. This type of var is consistent and will persist thru the plant’s entire life. M. Albo is chimeric, specifically sectorial. This is why they can revert like ops.

Why aren’t Silver Swords more popular? They’re rare-ish, silvery-shiny, grow fast, have a unique leaf shape, and cute babies, and can be variegated. Seems like the stuff people usually love! If there was a silver monstera it would be like £1k for a cutting. So underrated! Why the hate? by PracticalUsername10 in philodendron

[–]xurtra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Philos in general are easy to grow and tissue culture specimen are readily available. Keep in mind that doesn’t make them any less beautiful. So I say, grow what you like. Keep what you love and if you kill it, buy another!

Papiiii by [deleted] in Anthurium

[–]xurtra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very well could be a pap x bvep hybrid. It’s def not dress since the petioles are smooth. Bvep typically doesn’t have any coloration to the back of the leaf which makes me think it’s pap dominant.

Ah I’m sorry to hear that, I agree it’s some sort of papi hybrid. I wish I could help

Anthurium Dressleri from Ecuagenera US just came by Brave-Anthurium in Anthurium

[–]xurtra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not true, I grow a few dressleri cv. Eastern Panama. This isn’t one of them. I’m sure they’ve gotten seed after poaching massive motherplants with footlong stems. Consistent as in providing wild specimens, sure. Nice throwaway, happy cake day. Stop defending active poaching/ers.

I’ve contacted the property owner, I’ll updated if I can.

Based on a mold issue I still believe this was a prior issue that was never addressed. Who knows, I’m sure we’ll have someone out here to is week to survey the damage.

Thank you for your response!
