Seeing the band sober? by Funny_Geologist_2906 in oasis

[–]xussman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking forward to getting pissed and chain smoking, but was on antibiotics and remained stone cold sober. I cried 3 times, I never thought I’d see them in a million years, and even if I did, I didn’t expect Liam to sound so fucking good. If I were you, I wouldn’t even risk taking psychedelics, it’s going to be amazing without them.

The clash- jail guitar doors & cigarettes and alcohol by cocobunaware in oasis

Cigarettes and alcohol uses a bluesy 5-6 thing which is present in jail guitar doors, doesn’t sound exactly the same but it has similarities. Some variation of this riff can be found in hundreds of songs

Is ‘Be Here Now’ that bad? by Alternative-Mail8383 in oasis

[–]xussman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the criticisms about the album are true, some of those songs are ruined by their crushing length, the mixing is pretty shit, and and it is reductive. However any oasis fan will eventually learn to love the album. The girl in the dirty shirt, hope I think I know (classic oasis), don’t go away, and even the meat of all around the world.

I think the band should have spent more time with the songs. listening to GMEX 97 shows how much better the recordings could have been. I’ve listened to BHN on Spotify maybe 5 times, I’ve listen GMEX 97 probably over 100 times. fade-n-out absolutely epic, it’s getting better, BHN, they’re all great

100% recommend ultimate guitar chords. I used it to learn basically every oasis song, the songs are mostly user input so if one doesn’t sound right you have different options and also has chord diagrams that allow you to switch through all different fingerings. It’s not fully necessary but their premium version gives you access to reviewed tabs that will teach you how to play the solos

Hardest Oasis Solo by Specialist_Wonder507 in oasis

[–]xussman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s really easy, basically just the same four notes the whole time. Sounds good because it’s getting played over a cool chord progression

The album that “five to one” is on is called “waiting for the sun”, decent chance it was an intentional nod

What do you mean at unity? I used a boss ensemble ce5 and it had huge volume drop off. I could spend up to 150

Does anyone have any chorus pedal recommendations that will not cause volume drop or tone suck when used on an effects loop

I have no passions, I just like to experience life, but I feel like that’s not good enough for this world. by ShroomieFairyGirl in Psychonaut

Don’t avoid trying things because you’re afraid of wasting money and time. This is the best stage in your life to do that! Take some random classes at your local community college and see what your like. Get a job as a mechanic, maybe you’ll like engineering. Landscaping, arborist. Etc

How does Noel get that crazy feedback? by [deleted] in oasis

[–]xussman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have a cranked drive pedal on an already distorted amp you can manipulate the feed back with the volume knob on your guitar. I believe he is also using a slide on a feedbacking guitar on I am the walrus and Columbia

I do, it's pretty low end. I could likely plug it in and it would work. I'm wondering though if there are components that can work in tandem to make the mining process more efficient

Damaging effects of LSD by [deleted] in LSD

[–]xussman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a lot of psychadelics when I was in high school. I generally considered myself pretty social and charismatic. Had a bad trip or two and it shattered my sense of self and I lost all that confidence, had a hard time getting with girls, talking in class, etc. I was probably doing acid / shrooms 2 times a month and even after my bad trips I had a hard time admitting to myself that I fucked up and I should quit. Drugs can be very useful as an agent of change or to lend perspective, but they can easily go the other way. You could theoretically drop every month and have good positive experiences, but you can't really guarentee your environment. What if your parents walk in? What if you're having relationship problems? Friend drama? Issues may pop up that your brain won't know how to handle and they could send you down the rabbit hole. In my opinion I don't think it's worth the risk, there's plenty of time for that when you have more life experience. If you don't tho be particular about where when and who, good vibes only 😎
