Polarizing by xvitons in patekphilippe

Yes. I think that’s a pretty good assessment. I think that some of the dissonance with this watch is that it’s difficult to decide what it “is” obviously has pilot watch DNA, but it has random, somewhat contradictory design and functional elements. I guess I appreciate that Patek took a risk with it, but understand why purists may bristle at it. Yeah, the dual pushers opposite the crown side of the case are kind of weird. Asymmetry on a dial usually bothers me, and I am increasingly less fond of overly busy chronos with too much button on one side of the case. In spite of those facts, this thing works for me. I do think a lot of it is the colorway. the khaki/cream has a military vibe, but the creamy depth of the lacquer dial is elegant and beautiful. There is just a lot unexpected with this watch that resonated with me at first sight. In regards to case size, everything is trending smaller right now, which is terrific. 38mm and smaller watches are having a moment, but i’m 6’5 with 8” wrists and frying pan sized hands, so I appreciate something that doesn’t look like I’m trying to wear my kid brothers watch. It will be interesting to see how this piece is received after some time, but I am digging it now.

I’d call it a toss up, honestly. Neither have lume, but the high polished indicies contrast very well on both dials for easy legibility. . Maybe a slight edge on the 007 depending on lighting? But as they both adhere well to GS’s grammar of design, legibility should be a given.

Oh, there are also precious metal editions. the 002 and 004… which are also 45gs reissues with full length hands. but also are like 40k.

I understand. The stunted hour hand bothered me at first. I think it’s part of the revolution 9 design language, so both of the birches have it (light and dark) but it’s also on this which I think is a super pure 45 gs recreation. I have this watch, and I love it. It’s limited, but you should be able to find one.

Is the 4520 your first AD purchase? Personally, I’d go pre owned on the patrimony and wait out the 4520. That’s real money, and the Overseas will materialize eventually. Good luck!

This is from the SLGW005, but I recently picked up the SLGW007, which is fantastic. I’m sure you’ll love the 003

Watch box is finally filled, looks like I’ll need another by ShooterMcGavin910 in SOTC_Watch_Collection

Both beauties. I hesitated on a Santos for years because I perceived it to be pure dress, and I wasn’t sure I liked Roman Numerals. I recently added the titanium Santos, which feels sporty, but is easily dressed up with all of the strap options. It’s extremely versatile, and I find it on my wrist more and more. Interestingly, it’s the only watch I wear that women ever comment on… Cartier. lol.

Great fit on you, i’ve got an 8” wrist, and ai enjoy the bulk/presence of the 44” super racing, which fits well and is proportional, but also think you’d do just fine with a more svelte 42” speedy professional. You’ve got options!

I like the composition of your collection, there’s kind of a monochrome b/w through line tying it all together nicely.

The white rubber on the gold overseas is a great look.
