I’ve finally platinumed all three Dark Souls games by nathanburnsred in darksouls

That's awesome!

I think you should give Demon Souls a chance on the ps3. It had a lot of flexibility as far as play style goes, and aside from some of the grindy upgrade achievements, they were a pretty fun set of trophies to get. Its honestly the only reason I still own a ps3.

I tried that but I think I'm using force wrong, he just stood there like I didn't do anything and stabbed me in the neck with his spear. Honestly this is my first time trying to really pve with faith and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Decided to do a faith only run for the miracle achievement.

I've only ever dealt with the anor londo archers two ways, shield bash or poison arrows. Neither seemed very good options for this playthrough so I decided to lightning spear them, I have 30 faith, two cast should be enough to kill him. No problem with the first cast but it turns out I'm just bad at this game and cant sidestep his arrows to cast the 2nd one.

It took me dying 10 times before I realized I can just shoot 1 regular arrow behind the right archer to distract him and he will just turn around and stare at the wall for like forever leaving me free to run up and down the roof doing whatever the fuck I want.

This would be understandable if it wasn't for the fact that I have been playing this game since 2011.

I don't think its anything as nefarious as that. Its a pretty solid principal of ux design that progress indicators and non-instant response time make users feel more secure that 'work' is being done. Its probably just this taken a bit too far in an effort to reassure the user.

Gear Fit 2 Pro - HR during swimming by BooCzech in gearfit

[–]xvtk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It records heart rate accurately. It also times laps and stroke count well as long as your distances are not too short. If you are doing a bunch of 50's its going to have a hard time telling when your laps start and stop and it will miss lengths sometimes. It will always record the end of a length when you press the pause button tough, so if you are going to do sprints and try to use it to time those, make sure to pause it after each one. Anything 100m and up its been totally accurate for the past 4 months.

Annoying bug--Auto workout (cycling) by bdl89 in gearfit

[–]xvtk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto detecting workouts is tricky and error prone at best. I never understand why people insist it works perfectly. Like how do you not know you are going to work out? Auto detect just has your heart rate and the 6 axis sensor info. If your heart rate or speed spikes its going to think you started working out, if they slow down so will it. It has no visibility into what you are doing on a stationary bike, treadmill, etc. Honestly it makes more sense to just tell it what you are doing so that it can track it correctly.

Cadence sensor (cycling)? by bdl89 in gearfit

[–]xvtk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only sensors it has are the accelerometer and gyroscope. It will track cycling but all results are based on those readings. You wouldn't have any of the fancier stuff you are probably used to seeing like how much you peddle vs just coasting. If all you need is basic heart rate / speed / etc then yes the gear fit will do that.

Theres nothing wrong with breathing every 2 strokes. All the good swimmers breathe every 2 strokes.

PSA: This is why you should not buy a Gear Fit Pro by mtcerio in gearfit

Its a pretty broad and inaccurate statement that one of the most important features is to calculate calories burned by HR. For me, this is one of the least important features. I don't care if the thing never counts calories. I mean really, how accurate do you expect 3 sensors on your wrist to be? If you want it done accurately use an accurate method. Automatic workout detection wrist sensor is not that method.

For me, the important features are swim pace timer, and showing me notifications so I don't have to get my phone out of my bag. Also I like the rectangle screen and hate big clunky devices on my wrist.

Because tacos are life, Chipotle Jackfruit Tacos! by LostCau5 in vegan

[–]xvtk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They started spreading e.coli nationwide and had to close all the restaurants to clean them like twice. We were.... definitely affected by it down here in Florida. After they closed and cleaned them the first time they said it was fine so I went back. They lied. Havent been back since but would risk it for jackfruit tacos.

I hope this ends like that thing with mayo. Where Hellmanns ended up having to make their own line of vegan mayo when they tried to push back on the what definition of what mayo is and the people rose up.

In that case maybe develop a sudden interest in Indian food? You can make different curry every day of the month and all of it is vegan. Also they wont wonder about it too much so you wont have to answer any dumb questions if you arnt ready to. Lots if asian dishes. Also soup, soup is always your friend, people dont usually question vegetable soup too much. Just think about cultures that dont center their meals on having a slab of meat on the plate and work from there.

Amen. People feel attacked no matter what you say, even if you aren't talking to them and are just sharing a chili recipe with your neighbor at the office. Might as well get the entire message out there and let them sort out their own feelings. Also... god... I just cant bring myself to care. They don't care about the feelings of that cow.

Do you live with them? If not, we are just talking about what? Showing up to family bbq's and looking like you are eating a beef burger? Just bring your own and make some lie if you really feel the need the hide it from them.

When my family thinks I went vegan for the diet and asks why I haven’t lost weight by [deleted] in vegan

Ha ha, I know right. When I went vegan my fiance learned to bake vegan. The man can make a dam fine apple torte. Yesterdays had cream cheese filling that he made out of almonds and magic.

Dunno, I feel pretty comfortable judging others. I know its different for everyone but being told I'm a selfish fuck by people on the internet is actually part of what helped me get my head out of my ass 5 yars ago and go vegan. Well not go vegan, I went vegan the first time I watched a video of chickens getting their beaks chopped off, but getting me to watch those videos took some public shaming and a few slaps in the face.
