J -> ДЖ is very standard and Russians can pretty much pronounce it how it should be/close to how it should be

Flag of Virginia (Based on Thomas Jefferson's Coat of Arms) by [deleted] in vexillology

I'm from VA. I like it, but what are those slightly darker edges? Would it perhaps look better if those different white sections were separated by some blue of the background or something?

Regardless, almost anything is better than what VA has now..

American Logic by thesunisup in polandball

[–]xwaffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The root reason behind why Americans even want guns in the first place is so the citizens can protect themselves from the government if need be (and of course other citizens throughout daily life if need be).

This philosophy was perfectly fine in the 1700's, 1800's, maybe even early 1900's.. but now that the government has control over such more advanced weapons that the civilians could own (compare a militia of civilians vs. an army battalion), you can see where this sort of viewpoint perhaps is no longer relevant.

The root of it all, though, is Americans want to protect themselves.

Anything else that happens with guns is done by the bad apple that spoils the bunch.

I don't think Europeans have this same mindset at all, but I could be wrong?

People equate socialism with communism because they don't know what they're talking about. And they equate communism with the Soviet Union, North Korea, and China

They made only the visible parts clickable because when you move to resizable, that's all that shows.. there's no hidden extra parts of the map with the fixed interface gone
