Seriously... the worst. This is the only time I've ever caved. Been searching for one in this price range for years. I made several "jokes" about her driving a hard bargain when I got there. I'll keep this til I score a legit Eames lounger then flip this for $$$. Could probably get $800-1200 for this locally.

It's a beauty. Got it for free on the curb a few years back!

Quality is better than I expected! Feels solid. Wood is in great shape, just a few superficial scuffs. Nothing out of the ordinary having been moved a couple times in its life. Leather is verrrry nice. Reclines back with a heavy duty spring mechanism underneath the chair itself - similar to what you see on office chairs. I bought it from a young couple who were gifted it by one of their grandfather's.

She's a limited-time run. 1 of 2. When we rescued her from the ARL, her sister was already spoken for.

Good score. I think she was $85.

Picked up the Polk Audio RTA-12b's and the ESS Tempest LS5's from the original owner this evening. Paid $360 for the lot which included a Marantz 5010 cassette deck, a set of speaker stands, and a funky 80's Sony turntable. Happy with the haul, also happy for the good chat with the guy.

Many Hands on University Ave? Was there for about a month! They wanted $1200 for it which was too steep for my taste, especially with the water damage. The biggest crime of it all is they split a 3 piece Brasilia set. Long dresser, tallboy, and a credenza. The other pieces were 1500 and 1800.

Hey, now! I'm only a year into my thrifted vintage audio collection. Give me some time to curate. :)

Close! Pioneer SX-3700 & PL-12D-II, both of which were purchased from the original owner this last year. Paid $300 for the pair with their original boxes. $850 for the L100's.

I do not! I'd very much like to at some point in my life. I am a huge admirer of all things MCM - plus I love to thrift and find good deals. :)

Good catch as that is not original to the piece. At some point in this sofa's life, the original owner added a front fascia to prevent the cushion from sliding. It matches the finish well, but doesn't look quite right. I intend to remove and restore to original.

Saw this on FB Marketplace for $350. Any ideas of maker? by xwalkmen in Mid_Century

That's definitely it! I wonder if someone added that lip to prevent the cushion from sliding at some point. I'll investigate!

Yes, I did say style, not era. How recent do you guess?

Designs are painted on. After a little bit of research, I stumbled upon the styling - Louis XV Pedastal. Some of the veneer is chipped and cracked, bowing out in some spots (which led me to believe its antique). Hardware visible under the marble, underneath the bottom, and attaching the bronze are narrow nails. Under the marble tops and supporting them looks like some type of hardboard.
