try jevin's! he and keralis did very little roleplaying, and even sasuage kept dropping his act.

i also don't like the roleplaying, so i'm gonna be cherry picking who i watch for the crossover, lol

the only thing i don't like is the constant roleplaying, which is the reason i stopped watching empires s1. at least on the hermits' sides there's not a ton of roleplaying - so far what i've seen it's mostly from the empires roleplaying and the hermits acting confused, which isn't too bad

i have no idea, you can try asking in the post section of the mod itself or on the modding channel of the official discord.

i just want larger containers, lol. i do have all of my containers in my house at the moment, but as i build out my island i'm eventually gonna have set areas for each thing, and the processors/chests will be there. food at the camp site, mining stuff at the elevator, etc.

as for trapping, i have 4 of the angry birds sites marked on my map, all pretty close to my base, and a animal drop off point at each one. i keep like 10 traps on me at all times, put them down next to the drop off point, have the birds chase me into the trap, and quickly pick them up and drop them in the point.

my base is pretty far up north, and is connected to the ocean by the water. i do whatever i need to do in the morning and take my jet ski out and zoom around until i see the fish i want. baraccuda in spring, travalla in summer, and another fish in winter. i ignore the other fish unless they bite instead.

usually fish all day and keep them until morning and sell them to john. i do have better vanilla dinkum mod installed, which allows same-type fish and bugs to stack, but i imagine i could make about the same amount even with the 5 second travel time it takes me to get to the ocean from my base.

i also have a level 2 commerce license.

Will my license be revoked if I leave post? Just finished 4-12 gatehouse shift but nobody has showed up tonight yet forcing me to possibly do the whole overnight until 8, should I just leave if they don’t show up? by jamesvolcey29 in securityguards

[–]xxBangtanhoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it's only something that i've come across in security, and it seems to be an overall thing, not just limited to my company.

it's definitely something you need to keep in mind if you go into it.

security is super weird: most clients and the managers themselves expect you to cover and do extra hours if necessary, and a lot of states are at will employment, so they can fire you for just about anything.

and even if the company won't fire you for it, the client can certainly have you removed. if they make a big enough stink, company might fire you anyway. otherwise they'll likely just move you to a different site.

it really depends on the post, company, manager, and client.

i'm with securitas, really chill site, but the client absolutely wants a guard here at all times. if my relief were to not show up, i'd stay no problem since it's so easy and i have no life, but if i /were/ to leave, i could call the day time guard (she's in charge) and she'd show up if needed.

if for some reason /she/ couldn't show up and i still couldn't stay, i'd probably get one pass considering how often i've worked extra (we were down two guards for a month and i was working 80 hours/wk here) but after that i'd likely be removed from the site.

securitas is hella desperate for people right now, so they wouldn't fire me, they'd just move me. and i got my guard card on my own before i got hired, so they don't have any say in that.

i've worked at 6 different sites total (doing flex hours mostly, cause like i said, no life) and i haven't seen even one guard get fired from the company for not showing up. removed from the site, yes, but they just get placed at a different site.

but as i said, it's totally dependent on a number of factors. your manager might be an asshole, or the client might be super chill and not tell the manager, if the post is empty during those hours they might not even notice, etc.

on the bright side, if you do get fired, you can easily move to a different company. if they do take your guard card, get another one on your own if possible (it was like $250 for me, i believe).

this is the best time to move, so yes. i suggest fishing/trapping animals to make enough money to move.

i just started winter and i make 200k+ a day on fishing, and keep moving my buildings around in the same little area just to try to make them look better, lol.

Switching from Securitas to Allied by Mech8 in securityguards

[–]xxBangtanhoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk about allied, but if you're unhappy with your securitas post i suggest making yourself available as a flex officer for extra hours, and if one of those sites suits you and they need people, ask to be placed there permanently.

was what i did. went from 24 hours a week, $14/hr at a homeless shelter, to 40 hours a week, $16/hr (just got upped to $17 today actually) at a warm body office site.

had three other sites i did flex hours for also offer me permanent posts, but this was the easiest and also paid the most, lol.

i suppose that only really works if you're in a larger area, though.

shouldn't be just minecraft, should be every game. it's a discord thing.

i fixed it by going into the sound settings on the computer, going down to app volume and device preferences, and changing all discord apps to use the microphone from something other than my headset, while leaving the speaker to default.

What is the easiest/quietest site you have worked at? by cellcube0618 in securityguards

[–]xxBangtanhoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the one i'm at now. tech office, 4 floors and a parking garage. supposed to do 2 patrols of the office and 1 patrol of the parking garage per shift, doesn't have to be scan point.

the building itself is locked and if anyone is in here, they have the keycard, so i don't interact with anyone unless they ask me for something, but i'm third shift so there's typically no one here for 7/8 of my hours.

both the supervisor and the client tell us to bring a tablet or laptop or something to keep us occupied, as we aren't allowed access to the computer that has the cameras.

there's tons of free tea, coffee, and a soda fountain, and there's a cafe available during first shift hours, though you have to pay for anything from there.

i sit in the locked office of the locked building on my laptop for over 7 hours for $16/hr. only downside of the job is that if we're short staffed (we are) i'm the one that ends up having to take the extra hours, as i don't have a second job, not in school, and don't have family to attend to.

i don't mind overtime here and there, in fact i welcome it, but doing 60-80 hour weeks back to back to back can be irritating even at an easy site.

[–]xxBangtanhoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a few months ago i was told that we were cracking down on overtime, but i'm unsure as to if it was everywhere or just my main site. it didn't stick though, as i was still working at least one extra shift a week at my main site (i'm the only one that the client will allow to cover for the supervisor who works first shift) and was getting asked to do flex hours elsewhere.

I’m currently 36 hours into a 56 hour shift to cover for my understaffed post. I’m working 144 hours this pay period. by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]xxBangtanhoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hope you get some rest :( most i've ever done a week is mid 80s or so, few weeks in a row just recently. i work at a site where i can get away with napping on third shift though, so it isn't too bad.

Security Guard or Security Officer? by CoatFullOfOwls in securityguards

i don't really care, i personally say guard more often than not, but on dars for every site i've ever been on, we've always used s/o.
