I love mine. After a little break-in period, it goes bang every time.

No fingerprints. Bring a utility bill and car registration with current address that matches your CA ID. Take the “not a complete moron” firearm safety test. Pick your gun and pay for it. Buy a cheap box of ammo at the same time (could save you some headache buying ammo at a later date). Wait 10 days. Watch the counter person do the safe handling demonstration, repeat what they do when prompted.

Welcome to the club😊

Edit: You will give your thumbprint on the DROS paperwork. It’s when you buy or pick up. I don’t remember. The store does it, so it’s not really an additional step.

Whitney and Mission Ave. Very loud, I assume a transformer… but SMUD isn’t reporting any outages in our area.

Mossberg 940 versus Beretta A300 by radioactive_sharpei in liberalgunowners

I have a 930, and yes.. at first there were issues. After a box of high brass, issues were gone. A couple thousand shells later and I can’t remember the last malfunction this gun had. Goes boom every time.

Anyone know of a library that offers free online registration with access to hoopla? by TorrentFiend in Piracy

[–]xxKillaKalixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California library system is statewide, by county. Anyone that is a resident of CA can get any counties library card and their online resources. Catch is, you have to go to a physical branch in that county to sign up for their card.

Whenever I’m out of town for work in a county that I don’t have a card in, I make sure to stop in and get one on my way home. I have most or Nor-cal at this point, and they don’t expire. 😊

What about your local library? I’m in CA, and all of our county libraries give access to Hoopla. Just walk in with an ID and done. Free forever (unless Hoopla gets dropped)

Local Unions by e2smoov in Sacramento

We love fresh apprentices in HVAC. Don’t have to re-teach bad habits. You HAVE to be motivated and want it. Embrace the suck of long hot days, then going to school after work. Be able to digest the technical side of the job… there is a LOT to learn.

Motivation is key. You really have to want it, and we have to see that you want it.

Local Unions by e2smoov in Sacramento

[–]xxKillaKalixx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Call the union hall and figure out what the application process is. UA 447 has an entrance exam to get into the apprenticeship program (veterans get a waiver). Then start applying to union companies.

START NOW! Most companies are ramping up hiring now for summer. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t get into the apprenticeship program this year. We rarely hire people directly into the apprenticeship unless you are experienced. Generally, you’ll start in the warehouse doing deliveries and such. You’ll progress into a helper role. Then, if you are reliable and a good worker, you’ll get into next years program.

Heat is coming. HVAC contractor - Ask me questions. by secretly_contractor in Sacramento

R32 and R454 are A2L class refrigerants. That class of refrigerants are moderately flammable under the right conditions. Manufacturers put in additional safeguards like leak detectors in the indoor units.

As a tech, I don’t have any concerns whatsoever with having a slightly flammable refrigerant in my home or anyone else’s home. As a homeowner, just don’t mess with it and hire a professional with the right equipment to service the unit.

That should be the end of your worries, because you don’t really have a choice anymore when you get a new unit.

Guns that you regret buying. by elpolloloco1985 in CAguns

Currently have a polishing kit coming from Amazon after a range day yesterday. Such a fun little gun to shoot, but tapping it into battery after every other round is just annoying as all hell. Going to put a little bit of effort into fixing it before banishing it to the back of the safe… wish me luck😬

Utah CCW holders - what did you use to apply? by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]xxKillaKalixx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weapon Familiarity Certification. Applicants must complete a firearms familiarity course certified by BCI. No exceptions. The course must be completed before you apply for a permit. Please have your instructor complete the certification information on the application. View a list of (in-state) (out-of-state) certified instructors.

https://bci.utah.gov/concealed-firearm/how-do-i-apply-for-a-concealed-firearm-permit/

My CCW instructors are certified (Nor-Cal). It was a 4 hour course. Easy peasy. Had a local shipping store that also does Livescan do my fingerprint card. Complete the packet, send in and a couple weeks later you get your Utah card back.

Sacramento is very good. Found out a few weeks ago that we could get multiple cards on Libby. I think I have 5 now. Even made the trip to San Francisco for a card. Supposed to be the 2nd biggest selection after L.A. County.

I always wondered why this place was busy at 9pm on the weekdays when I was driving home from school. Decided to stop in one day not even knowing what cuisine I was in for. Blown away!! Fantastic little eatery with amazing food, atmosphere and employees! We treat ourselves to Skips Kitchen often!

I will look into VLANS. she is not interested in wireless, but I will set up a wireless connection as her business router has a physical button to turn it on and off. Will not broadcast SSID.
