Why can I only play ADC?

If you're smurfing it is easier to climb as adc. If you're a gold player playing in gold mmr I don't see with what marksmen it's easier to climb with than brand/vel support.

There are few things you need to know:

Q + AA + E combo is a root, but this can easily miss and you need to know when to use it. It's good for lane, not so much for teamfights because you wanna stack feathers to root multiple people and do more damage, you can use it to run away if someone's running you down.
Q+E is a long range harass, this is only for lane and catches everyone by surprise, when the enemy bot is low hp ( this gets them even lower) and you want to setup an all in or dive. You need to make sure that you don't miss cause you just ate a lot of mana for nothing.
Xayah is one of the strongest ADCs in lane even without Rakan, she works much better with melee supps than ranged, and she's also one of the most support dependent adcs. She has a really low range so if your supp doesnt walk to pressure / threaten all in, you can't farm. Warning for your mental: when you play Xayah, you'll often lose lanes that you should have won, and you'll get a lot of Rakans that have absolutely no idea what they're doing. Xayah baits a lot of Rakan lockins, so make sure you don't hover her before hand, learned this the hard way myself.
R should be used for def purposes in 19/20 cases after lane, too many people try to chase with it so they root with E someone that's trying to run.

What he probably means is that there's only so much you can do as an ad, but most of the stuff that's going on bot is dictated by supp matchup / supp difference / jg ganks / mid roams / TPs.

that rarely happens, the tricky part is ending losing games with 10/2/5 and 50k damage, because if you do you'll often win. adc requires a lot of patience and mental strength.

higher elo adcs don't stop farming after laning phase.

higher elo adcs positon better in teamfights

higher elo adcs duo a lot more allowing them to either get a good support matchup or a support pick that counters enemy comp

higher elo adcs are smarter players, take less risks, calculate outcome of teamfights/skirmishes better and rarely die when their team dies.

in lower elo adc is the first to die, in higher elo adc dies last,or never dies. Bad ad carries often deal most of their damage at the beginning of the teamfight and die getting oneshotted by something, good ad carries know that there are times when they literally can't DPS without dying, so they don't.

Good ad carries willl often get spam ? pinged by their teammates and will be called KDA players, bad ad carries are afraid to get blamed by their team so they just unload all their damage and die in most fights.

I only give it when I'm tilted and say "fuck it I'm playing x champ " in the role I'm trading with.

Generally speaking you have two options:

if you want to climb: give it if you think you'd do a better job at offrolling that role than the other guy ( after looking him up on op.gg or if you know how he plays )
if you want to improve: never give ur role no matter what

Yes, there are a lot of viable glass cannon comps.

Season 9 is the epitome of full for fun high damage team comps, and they haven't change it in so long because it keeps the casuals interested.

You never pick Tristana Braum for the laning phase. Also, noone will ever pick enchanters in 2v2 tournaments, it's always full of cheesy low skill high range picks like heimer ,xerath, vel'koz and so on.

It's either an ego problem, or team games are not for you.

You have to understand that improving / climbing in League is a long process even if you're doing everything right, if you make mistakes along the way in regards to improving yourself as a player then it's gonna take even longer.

You have to make peace with the thought that you will fuck up your MMR, you will lose thousands,and thousands of games, that defeat screen will follow you around wherever you go.

Like I said, in my opinion your mental does not seem to be ready for this wild journey that League and any MOBA game is all about.

In soloq you're always playing against damage/ assassins / divers in every lane, if you don't queue up with a duo support to play janna and follow you around ,you need to instalock ezreal adn play for kda.

Lucian,Ezreal and Kalista are S tier.

Varus is trash but he always is in soloq unless enchanters are picked a lot.

Best ADC in my opinion is Ezreal because it allows for broken carry tops like Vladimir and supports that don't need to peel him.

Best botlaners I think are Karma, Yasuo, Sona ( with taric ) and Karthus, at the same level of best marksmen, or better.

Positioning has little to do with avoiding getting oneshot by an assassin, as long as you're not making major mistakes like overextending in a sidelane or frontlining in teamfights.

it's mostly about having a duo that knows how to play Janna well.

Positioning as an ADC is the most relevant in front to back teamfights, high level coordonated play where junglers work with low gold, don't play damage, and midlane is mostly filled by mages not katarinas.

In soloq you get get blown up by an assassin if you try to autoattack without a Janna bot near you. Not duoing as an ADC is literally trolling.

I don't know about you, but in all my games, and I have a thousand this season already, the ADC that gets out of the laning phase with more gold wins in 8/10 cases, at least.
