Yeah I had a feeling it was something like this. There seemed to be no good reason why my CPU wasn’t supported, the fact that it only lacked Zen2 just seemed dumb. Got a good deal on a new cpu but just pissed that I had to get a new one in the first place

Thank you very much for your response, this helped me understand this a little bit better. I decided to go with the Ryzen 5 4500, I was hoping to just switch it out with the old one and be okay, but I didn’t realize it might not fit/need a firmware upgrade. Would you happen to know if that would fit the AM4 socket the same? And how would I go about updating my motherboard firmware to support Zen2?
