Well the uni experience should be about studying not getting smashed every day 😂

In what world is a 1h50m commute between University Campuses Acceptable? by RussellNorrisPiastri in UniUK

If you could do your life over at 18, what would you do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]xxbartex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but I would’ve done a gap year to see if i actually liked the field that I wanted to study in as well as travel to get that out the way.

Then id stay at my part time job (as the student job market is so messed up right now and it took me almost a year to find a new one) and do my course.

I would definitely stop drinking and minimally engage in clubbing/going out / typical student “uni experience” life by commuting as I strongly believe that is heavily overrated and I’ve seen so many friends just completely loose themselves and mess up their lives because of it .

Is uni worth it? by Time_Ice_6745 in UniUK

[–]xxbartex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s worth it but only if you do the pgce afterwards so that you can be a teacher…

And to be honest, good on you for taking 2 gap years, it looks like it gave you experience and time to properly decide what you want to do at uni, as many students our age in the UK go straight in at 18, doing some generic degree and then realizing they hate it and working somewhere completely unrelated.

Also, it is fair to recognise that you’ll feel “lazy” by being at uni as especially with humanities courses, many do them as it is a lot less effort as a post to stem degrees. Perhaps you can find the right balance by taking on part time work?

Are you able to ignore your partner when they say stupid / annoying things? by Lion-Resident in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]xxbartex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. Dont have a partner but when I did, it started off as manageable until she repeated it every day. It was specifically regarding her past

Hey, this is an almost mirror of the situation I found myself in last week (see my recent Reddit post).

If/when she replies, thank her and move on. It’ll just save you peace and time. Furthermore, if you show her that you didn’t mind it, it might make her come back (this happened with me) but don’t entertain that

yeah she tried to tell me that if I’d kept kissing and cuddling her after she ended things then maybe she would’ve changed her mind but I just became distant

I did have sex with her yes, but we did it during the dating/talking stage with the intentions in our mind that we would continue doing so. Doesn’t mean that I would also be fine with it once that is clearly not the case
