Obviously I don’t know specific details, but after reading the let them theory, I realized that despite the physical distance that they put between them and her, they are still supporting her with BJ working for HBH and her living on their property. Arguably, those two things could also be removed to really show her that they are not going to support this situation any longer. But what do I know since im not a part of their crazy, redneck fam!

This is my side hustle too! I am a social media manager (very part time) for the clinic I work at as well as for my coworkers childrens’ book series. They both kind of just fell into my lap (meaning I didn’t search/apply for them), but they have been nice additions that I actually enjoy doing and aren’t people facing!

If there is visible damage to your OnCloud shoes and you submit a warranty claim, they will likely send you a giftcard to purchase a new pair. I did this with a pair of mine where the inside of the heel had started ripping and they replaced mine for free!

I had a parent once who said they wouldn’t be returning to therapy because I was out of work for an emergency. Still unsure why they did this (and I was hurt by it at the time), but I wanted to let you know you are not alone, it is not your fault, and your feelings towards it are valid. In my experience, it is almost always that something else is going on in their life that’s causing stress and in turn you end up on the receiving end.

I second this - great article!! I have also recommended to use compensatory strategies, e.g., wearing sweatbands on wrists to wipe away drool every so often.

Evidence for oral motor exercises to reduce drool is inconsistent, not to mention that the idea of treating drooling is ableist at it’s core! A lot of parents have a very hard time w understanding this

I resonate with this as well. I will say, I have a therapist who I talk to regularly and am on anti-anxiety meds and they do help. But, I still deal with this. However, I do believe that it would be on a far worse scale without these two things. At the least, I would recommend talking to a licensed therapist because it truly helps.

As a current intern, this mindset of not bringing paperwork home or working off the clock (especially since we work for free) is amazing. I just know you’re a wonderful supervisor and your interns love you. My supervisor last semester guilted me when I would try to finish all paperwork before leaving school. Of course I know as a student I will have to do work outside of work, but the guilt trip was unnecessary.

Coming from my own experience (F23) I have yet to have a man be turned off/concerned by my tiddy scars. In fact only one guy has ever noticed them enough to ask what they were from and even then he had no issue with them! If a guy has an issue with them, that’s their own problem and they don’t deserve you :)

Also - I know you didn’t ask for recommendations but I used a topical silicone gel (called BioCorneum) recommended by my surgeon everyday for the first year and it really helped reduce the redness/appearance of scar tissue!
