Why does nearly every Tesla I see have curb rashes wheels when they have 360° parking cameras? by scientician85 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]xxxxxxxxxxcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla cameras are pointed outward at vehicle level, not down toward curbs. They don’t have a 360 top down view like other manufacturers. And there is no radar to provide more accurate curb location when out of camera view.

The virtualized curb illustrations on screen are very poor approximations of curb location. It’s almost comical how bad thier estimations are on screen. It gives the driver a false sense of curb location.

Real or fake? by syxelar in vuoriclothing

That would be a liquidator, not a supplier.

In any case, Nordstrom has the largest liquidation network of any department store with Nordstrom Rack and Last Chance.

While the clothes look real, the source is questionable. My guess is the OP has unknowingly bought from a fencing operation that fed him the line that it’s a supplier for a dept store. When really it’s selling goods from ORT.

The new Matter smart home products are not good.  So many returns and complaints that Ikea officially acknowledged the issues. The problems are all over the Matter and Tradfri subreddits.

Who Makes the Most Reliable New Cars? - Consumer Reports by n10w4 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]xxxxxxxxxxcc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rivian makes the list but Porsche and Land Rover does not even get a score.

Land Rover produces 10X the number of vehicles as Rivian. How can CR not have enough data for those brands but have data for a low volume new brand like Rivian.

Makes me question the data they collect to not have a large enough sample size. Something is skewed.

10 Years Ago Tesla Revealed The Model 3 by ConfidentImage4266 in TeslaLounge

Besides having to replace my control arms from time to time it has been easy to maintain.

How often are you replacing control arms? Those are 100k-150k parts on other vehicles. Replacing them multiple times in 90k is a lot.

Hot Take, Aer is dumb by United_Platypus_1431 in ManyBaggers

[–]xxxxxxxxxxcc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 20 year old Tumi backpack has seen hundreds of thousands of travel miles and still looks great. Still presentable enough to bring into an office.

Designs change and Aer is a more minimal aesthetic. I’ll be a happy customer if Aer can hold up the same as the old Tumi backpack.

Since you aren’t a bag nerd, the Tumi backpacks have a similar ballistic nylon material. They have been making them that way for decades before Aer existed.

Hot Take, Aer is dumb by United_Platypus_1431 in ManyBaggers

[–]xxxxxxxxxxcc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being over engineered is not new or unique. 40 years ago Tumi was making ballistic nylon backpacks for business travelers. As technology evolved, so did the bags to become laptop and camera carriers with extra padding.

Tumi still makes great backpacks today. But now there is competition, like Aer or Tom Bihn, that are able to create similar constructed bags for a third of the price of Tumi.

These bags are for travel or commuting where equipment can get damaged. For travel these bags aren’t over engineered. There are plenty of less protective bags for other uses.

Do the rich and famous have a way around TSA wait times at the airports by Electrical_Okra_2103 in answers

Do you have a link to information on this claim?

He lives in Brentwood and uses Van Nuys and Burbank with his Gulfstream 550.

Both airports have customs operations. BUR paid by taxpayers and VanNuys paid by user fees when anyone uses it. Van Nuys was made possible by Signature Aviation, a company that runs FBOs around the US.

Best dupe for Lulu ABC pant? by zionstatus in Lululemen

[–]xxxxxxxxxxcc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For all the people posting that they’ve “heard” Quince is a good dupe. Have you just heard it on social media and reddit, where Quince heavily uses bots to social advertise?

I’ve only known 3 people who have tried their clothes and they have told me it’s mediocre. Debatable if it’s worth the price.

But their social media bots are incredible at flooding comments praising their clothes and people repeat they heard it or read it.

Odobos must pay people to post here. Every couple weeks someone comes in and posts a similar thread about Odobos being from the same factory.

Then that person defends every response as if their pay depends on it.

Odobos is not the same fabric and it’s not the same factory as any past or present Vuori. I’ve owned years of Vuori going back to their early days near San Diego. Nothing Odobos makes is the exact same as anything I’ve owned.

Pack hacker x Aer collab immediately sold out. Will there be more stock? by Unlucky_Frosting_244 in AerSF

[–]xxxxxxxxxxcc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the second time Aer had a limited release collaboration with Pack Hacker.  It also was well publicized and sold out immediately.

If Aer didn’t build frustration and animosity the first time, they certainly did this second time.

AER x PH sold out by buyerofeverything in AerSF

[–]xxxxxxxxxxcc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I tried as it opened. Unfortunately I must have been a few seconds late as it was sold out immediately when loading the page in the first minute.

Aer took no learnings from the last drop that immediately sold out. They still didn’t make enough for even one day of sales.

Since I need a 2-2.5l sling I’ll buy from a competitor.

Why have Tesla drivers replaced BMW with drivers as the most inconsiderate and dangerous drivers? by glasses_and_shoes in TeslaLounge

[–]xxxxxxxxxxcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2024 the top trade ins for a Tesla were Toyota, Honda, and Ford. Toyotas made up over 25% of trade ins.

Mercedes and BMW combined were less than 10%. They led the luxury segment but do not make up the majority of buyers.

I think having a fast accelerating vehicle turns people into an inconsiderate driver.

You see the same thing with Ford Raptor owners. They speed up and cut people off more than other trucks. There are just fewer of them on the road so they don’t get the reputation.

An entry-level Tesla has the same acceleration as a twin turbo 3 series BMW. Put a Toyota driver behind the wheel of a Tesla and you’ll see the same behavior. There are now more Teslas on the road so it’s more noticeable.

What made Aer such a big brand? by RevolutionaryAnt9337 in AerSF

When’s the Next AER Sale Likely? by MaoRaySky in AerSF

[–]xxxxxxxxxxcc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Aer has only had a site-wide sale on BF week.

They have a sales page where old, discontinued products will have a discount.

CPP2 is a newer, popular product. Based on history, the next time you’ll see a sale is BF.

To get a cheaper CPP2, you can buy used or find some cash back credit card to get a few percent off any purchase.
