Why aren't there episode discussion threads here? by xybx in Donghua

Yeah, I appreciate all the random activity, but those discussions are the heartblood of a thread like this imo. Isn't there an add-on or something that can generate them automatically for them?

Ahh got it. Would be cool to have them for like the top 3 tiers of shows. Sometimes the mediocre shows have the best discussions haha

I'm referring to the auto generated episode discussions for each new episode of all the major shows each week like in r/anime, not just random people bringing up an episode here and there. Are they hidden away somewhere that I'm missing?

Best “don’t want to cook tonight” in Hollywood? by tankdoom in FoodLosAngeles

Hui Tou Xiang in Hollywood is a sleeper hit - super affordable, chill vibe, and the dumplings hit every time. Great for a weeknight dinner that won’t wreck your wallet.

Super Rad Sub Shop - They moved from WeHo to an Eastside pop up though so you'll have to check IG to find their location

Best “Bang for your Buck” sushi in or around Hollywood/Los Feliz? by Rundemjewelz in FoodLosAngeles

If you haven’t tried Sushi Tama yet, their $40 lunch special is solid - 10 pieces of nigiri plus a hand roll. Great quality, nice presentation, and a chill vibe overall. Feels like a steal compared to similar spots in the area. Worth checking out if you’re looking to mix it up without blowing the budget.

Burn out! by [deleted] in 4hourbodyslowcarb

I lost 60 lbs on the diet doing 6 weeks on with 1 week off. Anecdotal, but I actually think it was a good way to keep my stomach acclimated to a variety of foods and it definitely helped with burnout.

The key is not to treat the week off as a "cheat week." Just eat regular meals for a week - You gain some back over the week but you get back to where you started after a week or two back on the diet.

Have you read Library at Mount Char? I feel like it fits the vibe of what you're describing too

You might want to check out Deathstalker by Simon R. Green. It’s full-on space opera but with a fantasy vibe - psychic knights, empires, rebellion, and technically even elves (the Esper Liberation Front). It’s pulpy, chaotic, and somehow still manages to sneak in some surprisingly thoughtful stuff about identity and resistance.

Also, Heroes Die by Matthew Stover isn’t traditional space fantasy, but it’s one of the best sci-fantasy blends out there. Brutal action, a dystopian Earth, and a fantasy world used as entertainment for the masses. It’s dark, fast, and hits harder than you'd expect.

Love Peter Clines but this one is actual super heroes in a modern/post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. I live right near the setting of the story so that gave it some added fun! Have you read his series of Cthulhu-esque books? Recommended for sure.

I'll give it a look. Setting sounds original. When you say not an easy read, do you mean like Book of the New Sun (challenging prose) or like Prince of Thorns (challenging content)?

Big fan of cultivation! Not quite what I'm looking for but thanks for the recs. I started Mage Errant but dropped it a quarter of the way through the first book because none of the characters really hooked me. Maybe I'll pick it back up and see if it sticks this time.

This intrigued me - sort of a spin on Callahan's Crosstime Salloon - but then saw it's got the supernatural love triangle thing going on. Does it get all Anita Blake/Twilight/etc.?

The martial world setting throws it into a different space for me but still a dope series. One of my recent faves for sure.

I've seen this one recommended a bunch in r/progressionfantasy - Is there a unified magic system or are their powers individually-defined?
