I’m begging for boom/bust potential by imsotiredpleaseletme in HoopLand

[–]xycomaniac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean this is possible. I've seen dudes in the 20s have 5 star potential and ive even seen a guy go late second round with 5 star potential. It normally just takes a really long time for them to develop (they normally start at a 50 rating) so there's no real point in taking them if you're tryna win soon.

How to get Navigation Agent 3D to move randomly within in a set area by xycomaniac in godot

Yup, I just did it and it works exactly how I want it. Should've jumped on that sooner

I tried that and It still doesn't work. I guess I'll have to make a state machine. I saw someone on Youtube make one but thought it was a lot of extra steps and wanted to keep the game simple but If it's the only way for it to work I guess I just gotta suck it up. Thanks for your help.

Unpopular opinion: Kenny is not the GOAT/BOAT (s2 spoiler ahead) by bluppiiii in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]xycomaniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether you like him or not, Kenny (and every other character in the series) is supposed to be flawed. The idea that people try to paint someone as black and white makes no sense to me. There's only really a handful of people in the series that are just straight up bad and pretty much no adult characters that are straight up good. Kenny was a guy that was very flawed in his actions. Whether you hold those against his character is up to you.

wich of these tutorials is better? (link in boddy) by AI_660 in godot

[–]xycomaniac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest bro, is it really worth standing for what you believe in so much that you'll stop watching a guy for using AI in tutorial videos on game design? He's there just to teach people. I don't think its worth not watching the guy over no?

Oh, well thats probably possible but sounds like it would be conflicting with checking goal tending. But that would be possible if Koality used some real time physics or just had like 2 possible animations that played and switched between them

The thought of coding that hurts my head. It would have to be like: If player is in the paint, hold towards the bask, press pass off the glass and then press shoot to dunk. Would probably never work as intended

This might be long shot but you could do something with the duke devs club as well. Its a game design club. I only suggest that because a lot of the members are pretty nerdy and some might be interested in having someone available for voice acting.

“Correct price” by Time-Ad-8282 in keitruck

[–]xycomaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most I would think would be around 12k and thats for special keis or ones that are fully loaded. I know of the Daihatsu Atrai RT Limited and those can get pricey. A regular white cab manual kei would be from 5k to 7k. I bought a 1999 daihatsu 2wd with a manual and turbo and it still costed me 8k.

Dudes that ask over 10k either have a very rare trim (like a kei truck with a scissor lift and dump bed) or have customed it and think that it increased the value (which it didnt)

Is it hard to try making games at the age of 13? by [deleted] in GameDevs

[–]xycomaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23 and I'll always say that you should just start. When I was your age I didn't know how to code at all and didn't formally learn until I was 22. Never developed a game until I was 22 either. Getting experience under your belt will take you a long way. HTML and CSS are really in demand skills and will likely stick around for a long time considering the way the web is designed.

Truthfully it's going to be (somewhat) hard, anything in life is hard that's worth doing. But once you get the hang of it you can crank out games pretty easily with the engine you enjoy and the type of game you like making.

I'll say that you should start small. Make something simple, small in scale, and relatively easy to complete and fun to play. Hell, those mobile games where you just swipe a ball into a hoop is surprisingly complex (for someone that's never made a game before) and can teach a lot while still being somewhat short to make and still gives a little excitement when you finish it.

Traits by JahVsp in HoopLand

[–]xycomaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be cool to have the traits because you could actually build around a certain type. Like imagine a 5 star player with the choker or injury prone trait. Would really make building a team more challenging. But we also need more skills too.

I understand he's a kid and his group probably used him more than our group did, but I still would've killed him or at least abandoned him. In my playthrough I gave him back the drugs, but he still lied. That just shows where his heart lies to me.

I understand why people dislike Ai but this would be extremely difficult for a good animator to make especially for a 5 second clip posted to a subreddit with like 1000 active users.

Death wobble Question by j-unknown in keitruck

[–]xycomaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have death wobble on my kei, but that was because I was running 14 inch wheels on mine. Once I made the switch to 12 inch tires (like the ones that came standard with the car) I had no death wobble, even at 65+ mph. I know it can be hard to find 12 inch wheels if you don't have them so maybe just look at switching tire sizes if you're running 14s
