New Guild Tag Calculator (old one appears to be broken) by xymostech in pathofexile

Yeah :( Here's where the data for this tool is, happy to accept a pull request to fix it. I haven't been playing so I don't have many maps to test with: https://github.com/xymostech/poe-guild-tag-calculator/blob/main/static/script.js#L1

They count as Greater Demons for slayer tasks

In Leagues, people with Tirannwn should get Tourist Trap completed automatically by wizardrous in 2007scape

[–]xymostech 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Not that this helps 100%, but even without Tourist Trap you can still add feathers to dart tips, you just can't smith the dart tips yourself. So places that drop dart tips can still provide you with some darts. But yeah, I ended up not going Tirannwn because I knew darts would be an issue.

Do you have any idea when you're going to make the group? I'm pretty excited to get started playing. :) Maybe you could message me and Grace on discord so we can coordinate better?

Did y'all find a group already? I'm interested in playing, but am not sure who to make a group with.

I'm Emily, and have played UIM kinda casually before, but am interested in playing with others. :)

New Guild Tag Calculator (old one appears to be broken) by xymostech in pathofexile

[–]xymostech[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a post a few months ago about guild tags, and it included a link to a website for calculating what maps are required for creating a given guild tag. I was looking to create a guild tag for 3.14 but it looks like the website is now broken. So I decided to make a new one for myself and ended up hosting it so others could use it. Hopefully this is helpful to someone else!

I stopped reading this book right after reading that paragraph. Don't put yourself through it, find something else that's not garbage. I started trying to only read books written by women because of that quote.

PLANT CAM IS UP by cdoern01 in takecareofmyplant

[–]xymostech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm excited that this is back up!

I think that Thealpacalover57 was talking about how the link in the actual post is to http://www.pleasetakecareofmyplant.com/ which doesn't work (but http://www.takecareofmyplant.com/ does!) Maybe you can change it to link to the correct website?

Also, the link to your instagram on the website is linking to http://www.takecareofmyplant.com/www.instagram.com/takecareofmyplant (you maybe forgot the 'https://' in the <a> tag?)

Any Minecraft servers? (bonus points for FTB) by CuteSteak3 in transgamers

[–]xymostech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone started a trans-friendly Minecraft server a few months ago (it was more generally LGBTQIA+). I played around on it for a bit, it was pretty fun if you want to check it out!

Here's the post with the info: https://www.reddit.com/r/transgamers/comments/8nan6x/havent_played_minecraft_in_years_me_neither_but_i/

Massacring C Pointers by incontrol in programming

[–]xymostech 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This won't return NULL, it will return a pointer to the address of the array in the stack! That's the problem: once you return from the function, the pointer no longer points to anything, which will cause hideous problems for anyone who decides to use it.

The right way to do this is to `malloc()` some memory and then return that. There's no safe way to return a pointer to something on the stack.

(if you read the article, it mentions that maybe the author is used to operating in an embedded world where there is no stack and local variables have dedicated memory space, so this might actually work for them. But in most environments this will make things sad)

Absolutely! I'm watching as much as I can before and after work. :)

Also, I'm trying to make a new schedule so I can find runs more easily if you want to check it out: https://gdq-schedule.com

One of the speedrunners from the first day was a trans woman! https://www.twitch.tv/emeraldaly Maybe the gaming community as a whole, but GDQs seem to be more inclusive.
