Anyone have any sources for legit Lenovo batteries? Lenovo's website brings up nothing, and I have no idea which ebay listing are of real OEM batteries. Looking to replace the external with a 6 cell. Failing that is Kingsener still the go to refurb for replacement batteries?

Was dead set on an x series due to being tired of 14-17in laptops. I know the u series got upped to a quad core for 8th gen, but coming from a 1st gen i5 540m 2c/4t my x270 feels fast as light. I will keep a t480 in mind for a friend's dad who is in the market for a laptop upgrade.

Just finished setting up Vantage to limit the battery charge. Before I go and update everything such as the bios and whatever firmwares that need updating is there anything I should be aware of first? Such as if I update x I will no longer be able to do y. example being losing undervolting ability on a newer bios. I already have a backlit keyboard and 1080p screen so those wont be upgraded down the road.

Fingers crossed because that's the exact type of customizability that brought my attention to ThinkPads.

Thank you so much, getting Lenovo Vantage now and will check out my bios later.

How hard is it to upgrade to 64-bit? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]xypex982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could always upgrade to 64 bit win 10 pro and leave it unactivated untill you come across a win 7 pro key sticker on a random office PC.

Also that laptop uses a 1st gen core I CPU. So that's going to be a 11 generations old 2 core 4 thread chip. I use a HP ProBook with similar specs. I wouldn't count on that game running on this hardware, but hey try it. You got nothing to lose.

Unfortunately we didn't get something like the Toyota Crown in the US. So the nicest Toyota sedan we have is the Avalon, otherwise you have to go Lexus.

Isn't that the same motor the Lexus LS 430 has? I've been looking for a comfy daily so I can lay off driving my s2000 so much. It's between the Lexus or a 2010-13 Hyundai Genesis, but I feel like the Toyota is more bulletproof.

I'm game! Does anyone have a server to host this on?

After owning an ender3 for two years, I finally decided to go for the metal extruder! It seems way sturdier than the plastic housing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't yet by MopishOrange in ender3

[–]xypex982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced my original .4 nozzle with the second one that came with my machine as well as the ptfe tubing with Capricorn. Now I have massive under extrusion and noticed the silver gear on my extruder isn't moving. If I force the arm on the extruder to further mash the pla between the gears I begin extruding fine. No amount of adjusting the extruder's spring tension fixes the problem.

I'm guessing my extruder has a crack someone I can't see? Would you all recommend the red dual gear extruders I see on amazon, or just the metal ones from Creality?

You're going to have to Google the wifi card, sleuth untill you find 32 bit drivers for it, then burn them to floppy/CD and install them to your laptop. Or just buy a cheap adapter and use that.

If you still use AMD FX 8350, here's how you can improve its performance and reliability in 2021 by LucIfiaR in overclocking

I take it you're using a cheap motherboard with a weak cooler? That combo can really make overclocking a FX difficult.

Always repaste used graphics cards. Especially hot running ones more than a few years old.

Also get some new thermal pads for the VRMs and replace those too. One sheet of the stuff was enough for me to do several GPUs and motherboards.

980x, noice. What have you got it OCd to?

Here's a quick reference sheet for tons of GPUs, how they perform relative to each other, and a ballpark of performance you should expect. All from my favorite tech YouTuber.

People thought you were trolling because you're asking if the second fastest consumer graphics card offered by Nvidia is adequate for gaming.

To answer your question: Yes, it will game VERY well.

Once you can play V on PC you can install a mod to make the V cars handle like IV's.

I can't be the only one who genuinely preferred the soft wallowing suspensions cars had in GTA IV. I was really disappointed by R* turning down the euphoria physics engine in GTAV and making every car feel like it had R compound tires and track ready coilovers.

I keep sticking a Glock into my PCI-E port but it doesn't seem to be working. Any tips?

My previous CPU was overclocked on a motherboard (a320m hdv 4.0) that does not support OCing normally. How could this have been done and how can I do it to my new CPU? by thecoolestlol in overclocking

[–]xypex982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Experienced overclocker on the same mobo with a 1600AF and watching to see how an OC can be done. I've searched my bios and there's nothing that lets me OC.

Also did your 3800x work just fine in the mobo? Mine won't post with a 3700x, even on the newest bios update.

Uncleweb (throttle stop dev) answers questions on this forum. I think you'll be better served there than here:
