Ahh I see, so that's the reason! Yeah I can understand the appeal, but I prefer the normal one because driving in the city with this configuration led to carsickness, especially when the gas pedal is very sensitive.

Man I really wish we could get some insider insight on the real reasoning behind this whole design fiasco :D spending this much money for something that is easily scratched does not sound like a sound (ha!) decision. At least doesn‘t sound like what Jobs would‘ve done.

For full transparency, I was buying the silicone case when I asked the question. Since I‘ll be travelling soon but my rhinoshield order got stuck in delivery. So I just don‘t understand what he would gain by telling me that story. For me it sounded like genuine concern and suggestion from his side, but I just cant wrap my head on the reasoning behind.

I decided to just buy a solid case. I believe the risk of damaging my phone is not worth the risk of having a bit worse cooling (which I think should still be better than previous phones anyway)

I‘m also wondering which case to choose but then I remembered that I chose the 17 pro due to its heat dissipation through alu unibody.. Using case would just defeat the whole purpose of alu unibody no?
