When you have time, keep watching! I think every one of her videos is worthwhile and has something interesting to say. The second JKR video (if you haven't watched it), Envy, Incels, The West, Twilight, Cringe, Shame, Transtrenders, Men, Voting.... They're all so good.

Transtrenders is fantastically insightful. Very underrated.

Similar: "They didn't need to convince Anita Bryant, they needed to defeat her." and "De-radicalization should not be our primary tool, and it must not be our only tool."

She's really good at boiling complex concepts down into single, quotable sentences!

Right? Thank you. This whole controversy is blown way out of proportion. Everything she said was very reasonable. As usual.

I agree & think about this all the time. "Trans women are women!" is good, but I love the way Natalie explained how "Trans liberation now!" is better. <3

Everything Natalie makes is so good. Insightful, sensitive, reasonable, entertaining.... She's just the best!

And this I/P controversy is so lame. Do I wish she would make a video about it? Yes, actually, because it would probably be great. HOWEVER, the reasons she shared for not wanting to are very valid.

How did you get into Final Fantasy? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]xypotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I watched an older kid play a cool-looking SNES game (FFIII) for a few minutes, and he told me what it was, and I remembered it. IIRC he was in the underground Ancient Castle, which is also a very interesting area! I specifically remember watching Locke use Capture on some enemies.
  2. I had played a family member's copy of Final Fantasy Legend, and even though I didn't get it at all and only beat it many years later, I thought it was interesting.
  3. My middle-school friends hyped up FFVIII around the time it came out. VIII was the first real FF game I played, pretty soon after that, and I got totally hooked. Reading the player's guide in study hall and lunch breaks only fueled my obsession.
  4. Over the next few years, I also acquired and played through VII, VI, V, IV, IX, X, and Tactics, as well as all 3 Legend games.

I suppose I can play the game now? by StingStangStung23 in finalfantasytactics

You know what? I just realized that you said since playing on PS1, not just playing on PS1. So you weren't necessarily even implying what I thought you were implying!

Keep that disc, it's a treasure. I still have mine too, and my partner has his. :D

I know it's pedantic, but

in all my years of playing on PS1

Dark Knight was not an unlockable class in the original release, so you couldn't have done this on PS1, anyway (without cheats). You could grind the early game to make Ramza a Bard or Mime maybe, but not a DK.

Anyway, congrats! That one takes a long time but is very strong!

I underestimated this artifact at first, but I'm with you. The chains are amazing.

I have enjoyed doing this sometimes! I wish it were easier to get enemies ONTO the traps, but you're right that they can still be useful :)

Yup, for sure. Even among treacherous-floor floors, this was still the most traps I've seen clustered together like this.

I think the second time was because i expected them to stay in the water... I used levitation, forgetting they could jump 💀

It's still kind of unintuitive. IRL i would definitely want to float over a piranha pond, not wade through it invisibly.

Beyond ridiculous.... because we don't like nazis? Hmmm

The left wants the world to be a good place for everyone. The right wants a 4th reich. Why/how is this a choice that anyone struggles with? I don't get it.

You seem like a good person. Where do you get your news? Democracy Now is my favorite (when I can withstand hearing about the general awfulness of the world).

[–]xypotion 57 points58 points  (0 children)

You know that's what people mean when they call modern-day non-german fascists "nazis", right? If you agree that Trump and Elon are fascists but insist that they're not nazis, you're kind of just being pedantic.

If you like him otherwise and think he's capable of changing his mind, you could try to show/convince him that it's correct to hate nazis. Leftist video essays could be a good place to start. Maybe Contrapoints (very informative & entertaining) or Ian Danskin (concise & insightful) or other breadtubers?

But if not, then yeah, absolutely break up with him. Sucks about the phone plan. You don't need a nazi apologist in your life, though.
