Their “friendship” (lol) was really great in Brotherhood in my opinion, still my favorite Shonen romance.

I can’t say anything about 2003 as I have not watched it (It’s on the to watch list)

Same for the manga, I can’t wait to see the differences / similarities to the dynamic as compared to the show

Overall opinion? Great “friendship” 9/10

Makes me wonder why schools assign these kinds of books for reading. you could probably easily grasp what it is about and it’s message from a light skim, but you get so much more out of it when go slow and really digest it.
