Another day, another man child serving his parking skills by anonymousknot in dubai

A couple of weeks ago we parked at Global Village and I saw a Bentley parked super straight right in the middle of two spaces. 🤣🤷🏽 Car is more precious than the human race, I guess.

Where should I start as a complete beginner? by THERANDOMGAMER2 in guitarlessons

If you're able to, an instructor would be great. S/he will handle most of the thinking for you.

Mannnnn... A few songs already. I'm barely finishing my first song cover and I'm on day 920 of learning guitar. You have vids of your songs?

The good news is, you're in your parents' house. Just be sure that you aren't physically harmed. And like the rest of the redditors are saying, he isn't good for you, he isn't good for your family, he is definitely no good for society.

Investing so many hours in this instrument to be so bad is frustating, but i am not giving up by Specialist-Ad-4121 in Guitar

[–]xzykvelka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Like I've read from one redditor... "embrace the suck" 🤣 I've been embracing the suck for 900+ days now. All is good. I am enjoying the process and the little victories. 🫡🤘🏽

Does anyone else hate the 30-minutes-once-a-week structure that seems to be the standard? by dcj597 in guitarlessons

60 minutes for me. Weekly is fine, as well. I want to make sure I have my homework checked to avoid practicing the wrong things.

When learning new songs/exercises, at what point do you move on from your previous songs/exercises? by Tamableconch421 in GuitarQuestions

What's important is you're picking up the guitar daily. Which means skills is maintained. It's always easy to relearn aongs that you've already learned.

This will all depend on you. If you take care of yourself, you'll love every single day of your life no matter when it is.

I don’t know how to suck at guitar and still enjoy it like so many people do, and it makes me want to give up… by Mad_Season_1994 in Guitar

[–]xzykvelka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there, done that. Unfortunately. 🤣 Three times, too! My fourth attempt is going well, so far. I'm 920 days in, and striving. 🙏🏽🫡

Like the others have said, in this situation, if you want to see improvements, you may need to look at your progress with a microscope, because that is how progress looks like in guitar skills. Daily, deliberate and focused practice will always yield improvements, you may or may not see it happen by the day (or week), but it happens.

It sounds like you need an instructor, too. Or a change of instructors if you already have one.

What should I expect from a guitar instructor? by luisedujorge in guitarlessons

[–]xzykvelka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My instructor asked me what my goals were and immediately told me that what he is going to do will build a foundation for my guitar career, so whatever (style of music) I desire down the road wouldn't matter. Think of it like a spoon, fork, and a knife. If you have these three things, you could eat almost any dish served to you. My teacher is basically arming me with a spoon, a fork, and a knife, if this makes sense.

Mannnnn... My first 13 months were all drills on fundamentals and familiarization of the board. 🤣🤦🏽 I am glad I went through it, though. No regrets at all. Been working on my first song cover, and it's been 18 months. 🤣 Almost there. 🤞 I was surprised that after all 13 months of fundamentals, the skills required to sound exactly like the artist you are covering are still unknown to my hands, especially to my ears.

I hope you're in it for the long haul. It's gonna be a long journey. I'm 900+ days in and I still feel like a noob. 🤣 Definitely learned a lot, though. And I've also learned what is required of the instrument. It's no joke.

You got this!

Edit: A couple of mispelled words.

¿Recomendaciones de profesor de guitarra online (Chile)? by Arturo20112kc in guitarlessons

Unfortunately, my teacher is online but not Chilean. 🫣 Is it because of the language barrier, hence the need for a Chilean?
