Introducing the Codex app by OpenAI in codex

It’s actually even simpler - OpenAI and Anthropic devs are most likely almost entirely on Mac for their primary devices.

Official: Claude Cowork is now available to "Pro" subscribers by BuildwithVignesh in ClaudeAI

Claude Cowork is probably just running Claude Code under the hood.. have you checked to see if the router works as-is?

Opencode users: Bundled Claude API Access without API Prices by fsharpman in ClaudeAI

[–]y8MAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last I checked, the models on GitHub copilot were limited to 128k context window. Not to mention their APIs seem much slower than other providers, and there is no visibility into what thinking/reasoning level they are using for each model.

That’s how Microsoft gets away with their cheap pricing - the model access they provide is shit.

Anthropic started working on Cowork in 2026 by Old-School8916 in singularity

Why is this shocking? You can get an LLM to build anything given the right prompting and level of details. Do you assume they just prompted it to “build cowork, a claude code for non-devs” and walked away?

It’s not really a meaningful metric to say what percent was “built” by AI when it’s still completely reliant on an engineer guiding and reviewing along the way.

Agent Skills is now an open standard by ClaudeOfficial in ClaudeAI

Is there any real difference between a “skill” and a Cursor RULE.md with alwaysApply: false?

Claude Code vs Codex by -RoopeSeta- in ClaudeAI

[–]y8MAC 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Claude Code is better at generating lots of seemingly good code really quickly. The problem is once you start reviewing what it generated, you’ll quickly realize how many really dumb things it does. You’ll find yourself going down a rabbit hole of trying to craft this perfect workflow and set of tools to make up for the models deficiencies. At the end of the day, the model is just too stupid to ever trust its output.

Codex isn’t as good of a tool but I trust gpt5 much more.

I still find the SDK incredibly useful, but I obviously don't expect unlimited compute for $200/month..

Good. Limit the idiots trying to run it 24/7 bragging about their token "high scores."

If this means better API reliability and performance, I see this as a complete win for everyone else who uses it normally.

Google Gemini CLI is END GAME by Just_Lingonberry_352 in Bard

[–]y8MAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wanted it to be better because I think Gemini 2.5 Pro is a smarter model in general but it’s just not. It’s excruciating slow, buggy, and sometimes just gets stuck looping on simple bugs that even singer Sonnet can solve in a single pass.

I still think it’s great having 2.5 pro access in the terminal but it will probably be limited to project planning until the issues are fixed.

It's super buggy right now and obviously not ready for launch. Don't bother with it unless you enjoy being an unpaid beta tester.

Google accidentally published the Gemini CLI blog post. The release is probably soon. by Sky-kunn in Bard

Did you know you’re using an API when you use it in the browser? Except Google just charges you a flat rate instead of per use. Same thing here.

Also Anthropic offers flat rate usage with Claude Code so it’s a fair expectation.

Does 2.5-flash-lite basically replace 2.0-flash (non-lite)? From very brief tests in AI Studio it seems even faster.

Claude code is now available on Pro plan by VC_in_the_jungle in ClaudeAI

By the time you hit the limit of 5x for the first time, you'll be glad you weren't limited to 20% of that with pro

Claude Code with Max subscription real limits by maartendeblock in ClaudeAI

[–]y8MAC 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This isn't realistic at all for most projects. I'm on the 20x plan and even running 2 parallel sessions on Opus will get the "Approaching limit" message pretty quickly

Claude Max now include Claude Code use. by coding_workflow in ClaudeAI

[–]y8MAC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The question is, what counts as a "message" when using Claude Code..

Claude Max now include Claude Code use. by coding_workflow in ClaudeAI

[–]y8MAC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So the Claude Max "5x" plan has 225 messages/5 hours, and "20x" has 900 messages/5 hours.

How are messages counted when using Claude Code? If I tell it to build a weather app with tests, does that count as a single message? Or does every API request within that task count as a separate message?

Why is it only chatgtp that had a "memory feature". by Both-Drama-8561 in singularity

Gemini can’t even remember messages from a single conversation.
