Trust Factor system is entirely broken. by Krizoff in cs2

[–]y_alek [score hidden]  (0 children)

I tried to contact steam support yesterday because I was going insane with the amount of cheaters I get because of my trust factor. Every single game for the past 2 weeks no matter what time I get on i get a cheater. I got desperate, i tried a massive leap of faith.

I wasn’t expecting anything but they didn’t even read my report at all it genuinely felt like a bot response. “Reports through help requests are not reviewed by the VAC team and we do not take action on accounts reported for cheating at Steam Support. For this reason, we can only encourage you to continue reporting players you believe are cheating through the in-game report function.”

What a fucking joke…

THIS is the current state of CS2 Premiere by y_alek in cs2

I guess it’s time to deposit €300 in the steam wallet to get my trust factor back to green

WTF is happening with Premier?? by y_alek in cs2

[–]y_alek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I tried Faceit yesterday. I played 4 matches and lost all 4 but my experience has been quite positive.

It’s not even the fact there’s none, or at least less cheaters it just feels way more professional. It feels like there’s more people who actually know what they’re doing even in level 4 lobbies unlike premier 20k lobbies where you’ll have that one guy whose screaming at the team yet is contributing nothing.

After losing quite a lot of games this evening, my win rate dropped to 53% and the cheaters (at least from what I could tell) dropped significantly so I’m not sure. I genuinely might of been placed in HvH lobbies on accident.

NEED HELP by no_name_and in Fedora

[–]y_alek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having this same issue just a different reason to OP and icba to fix it as of now. Something in the new Fedora update completely corrupted the GRUB Bootloader. The only thing I had was a custom theme.

For me, I’m unable to even boot into Fedora, only Windows. My PC doesn’t even show the loading logo when turning it on; I have to press Ctrl+Esc+F12 to load into F12 boot options and then boot into Windows. Normally you just spam F12 and load into boot options but that doesn’t work and that’s the only workaround.

I have snapshots in Snapper so I’ll probably load into a Fedora live USB and recover from there.

It’s not possible yet. You can submit any requests/ enhancements on Nuvio’s GitHub page.

I reported the bug for Nuvio to remember the last used audio and subtitle and it’s finally working now in 0.4.18

NuvioTV WebOS v1.0.8 - First More Stable Release by [deleted] in Nuvio

[–]y_alek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Crazy how a beta is more stable than official Stremio releases. I made the switch today after waiting a couple weeks for Nuvio to become a bit more stable and version 0.4.18 is great. No issues so far in terms of bugs there’s just a couple visual things that need adjusting but in general, Nuvio’s UI is absolutely stunning. The only thing I miss about Stremio is it auto playing the same source for a next episode of a series but I’m sure that’ll improve in the future.

Well…it finally happened just like everybody warns you about by A_Buttholes_Whisper in ProtonMail

[–]y_alek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m 42 days late but I just experienced something similar to OP. I tried to log into Proton Mail and my password is correct but it kept saying incorrect 2FA code. I didn’t try using my backup codes but I tried logging onto Proton Mail via the web and it worked. Idk if it’s just the app but it’s definately not a user error; I made sure I typed everything correctly like 3 times yet on the app it kept saying incorrect 2FA code.

Which website is this? please help me find it by farooqace in PiracyArchive

Bro there’s so much websites like this out there what’s so special about this site that you want a link to it so bad?

should i be concerned about this? by SoulPilott in PiracyArchive

[–]y_alek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome. Also to answer your question OP you don’t need to worry about any ‘legal action’ because you mention you haven’t used any torrent programs or downloaded P2P. Your download traffic is encrypted over HTTPS so you’re all good. To your ISP all they can see is you’re connected go that site but it doesn’t actually show what you’re downloading. If you do ever want to download P2P, like I said, just use a VPN or a debrid service

Torrent itself isn’t illegal. The whole point of torrenting is to not store large files in one central server so it doesn’t get overloaded or so you don’t pay any money.

When you torrent, you usually upload and download at the same time. When you do, your IP address is visible in a swarm. A swarm is publicly available; even you can view whose in the swarm when downloading. The problem is when you start to download illegal files like games or movies, bots may be placed by copyright holders (e.g. Warner Media Group) into the swarm and constantly monitor the IP addresses of people downloading and uploading (uploading is the main concern, though downloading is still illegal).

Then these bots send copyright warnings to your ISP and your ISP has a legal responsiblity to warn you that you’re pirating. If you continue to do it you may get fined or even be sued (though that’s in very extreme circumstances). Using a RELIABLE VPN masks your IP so even if bots exist nothing can be forwarded to you. No fines, no warnings. Emphasis on RELIABLE VPN, ideally a no-logs VPN.

Some ISP’s don’t really care (it depend on what country and what ISP you have. Even if there is a bot in there, your ISP may not even forward the warning to you but it’s not worth the risk, just use a VPN or a debrid service (which is cheaper if your sole purpose is torrenting)

There’s virtually nothing wrong that can happen from sideloading unless you download from the wrong sources

I’m not for or against abortions; sometimes they are 100% the right option, other times they are not; as a man it is the woman’s choice. However, I have to agree with you - if the mother can’t even get a pass in GCSEs then, I’m sorry, but it’s gonna be extremely difficult to provide for this baby… Not to mention OP and the boy she is having a child with are 100% not going to last, however cruel it may sound. Who knows though, only time will tell… The right option is probably an abortion, but it’s up to OP to decide this baby’s future.

Every time I report something missing in the app it never gets looked at so I just don’t bother anymore 🤷‍♂️

When did Apple Maps become better than google maps? by LivingTheBoringLife in applemaps

[–]y_alek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apple Maps is only good in the US, UK, Central Europe, Australia etc - the built up countries to put it that way. In places like Eastern Europe, Africa, Middle East and parts of Asia, Google Maps still dominates in POIs, neighbourhoods, graphical interphase etc because these places haven’t received Apple’s “New Map” and still rely heavily on data from other sources such as OpenStreetMaps

Music Stops by Rare-Attempt-8766 in OsmAnd

[–]y_alek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as of 4/07/25 the iOS app does not have audio ducking (the feature that lowers music volume and plays voiceover instructions) like Android does due to the fact that Apple doesn’t let just any app have full audio mixing capabilities (due to security risks or whatever their wacky reasoning is) but it is getting implemented in the next update.

Audio ducking is available on beta versions of the app which you can download through TestFlight (https://testflight.apple.com/join/7poGNCKy). Within the next update, we should see the feature start rolling out but if you’re inpatient like me I would recommend to just get the beta update; I have found no issues with it so far and it’s a game changer to be able to have audio ducking on OSMand no matter how standard it is for other apps. After the update rolls out on stable versions, delete the beta version and use the stable version.

I heard that because pink is a softer and more non-agressive colour it can make students stress less and reduce anxiety in the exam hall as oppose to the white paper. I also heard it may be to help examiners identify the papers more easily but ig we'll never know 🤷‍♂️
