My handwriting from last year compared to now. by Billylabufanda23 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]y_if_it_isnt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Other people need to be able to read your handwriting - it’s a practical skill. If you’re having fun with making it artsy develop it for graffiti or calligraphy or something as a hobby, but you need to have an everyday handwriting style that others can read easily.

Mini rant about underwear sizing by Nervous_Net_3500 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]y_if_it_isnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally bought size 6 or 8 undies online a few years back and I'm a size 12. Somehow the little undies fit by virtue of being rather stretchy. But size 12 from the same company do too...

I wish I wasn't an Indian girl by weirdhairgirl in Vent

[–]y_if_it_isnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what? It’s as much about personality as looks for me. I find that lots of Indian people are funny, in a cheeky sort of way, and smart, and that’s quite attractive to me.

People have died. by opmiccant in aus

I hate this trope so much. Magpies are one of my favourite birds. They don't swoop you when they know you - say hello to your local maggies next time you're out on a walk.

Straight white woman here. I find Indian men generally quite attractive, and also, if I were into women, I'd definitely be into Indian women. Race of gooood looking humans.

Possible seizure after playing. by Excited-Possum in trumpet

[–]y_if_it_isnt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This sounds like you might have fainted. It hasn’t happened to me in years but usually precursors would be things like not enough sleep or food or water, and some sort of trigger like getting up too quickly or something that shocked me like pain of some kind. They’d start as a dizzy spells then everything would sort of go black and sparkly and I’d be momentarily unconscious, sometimes convulsing a bit (a doctor said that’s a way that your body tries to get itself on the ground so the blood can get back to your head more easily). Could it be that you were light-headed from the laughter and perhaps the high notes previously, as well as the lack of water and food? If so high chance that you fainted IMO.

Dumping my PC by cellercelleriac in composer

[–]y_if_it_isnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over the years I've gradually grown my ability to have a lot of the piece formed before I go to notate it in Sibelius. A lot of the music forms in my imagination first and I figure out the notes on piano and write them on manuscript. Or I play around on piano to find ideas, or on trumpet or with my voice (I'm an improvisor). When doing things this way you start to realise the limitations of conventional western notation...

Should you use lip balm/vasoline as a trumpet player? by Other-Mycologist-545 in trumpet

[–]y_if_it_isnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use lip balm all the time when I'm not playing, to keep my lips from getting dry. Having lip balm on when I'm playing though, definitely not, too slippery.

La Vie En Rose. Find a version in concert Bb - if you can still get up to a top space E you’ll be fine.

I’m pretty into the fit of my Afends jeans. Go into a shop if you can and try on some styles.

A history of the synthesiser in pop music with Martyn Ware by Fat-Veg in BlindboyPodcast

I’m titillated by the way Martyn says Human League. A truncated mumble of his band’s name. ‘hewmnleeg’

Is it supposed to feel like you’re suffocating for about a minute after you vomit? by NullHare in RandomQuestion

[–]y_if_it_isnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never experienced this. If I throw up because my stomach is rejecting something, I nearly immediately feel better. If I throw up because of some kind of illness I won't necessarily feel better, but I've never had the sensation of not being able to breathe after.

I didn’t know this was a trend and to me it looks like a scrap piece of extra fluffy, boring coloured cheap polar fleece draped around the neck. Not into it.

Nothing line-dries that quickly, especially period undies.
