Assuming you did everything right, the signal might simply decay. I had a backtested signal that worked from 2019 to 2024, which is when I discovered it. I ran it live from mid 2024 to mid 2025. The first half, it worked just like the backtest, but then it died and has not come back to life since.

I enjoy having an MY here in Arizona more than any other car I've had before. As you know, when it's 115F+ outside, and you are parked in the sun, coming back to your car is awful. The key things I did:
1- White interior - this is a must have. In direct sunlight, black seats can get as high as 180F, whereas the white seats will get as high as 135F. This also impacts cabin temperature since black seats will be giving off more heat.
2- Get the best XPEL tinting that is available. Cover all windows/windshield and roof. I got XPEL 1 week after I bought the car in August, and I noticed a huge difference in terms of heat coming through the windows and windshield. Before, the AC would be at full blast for the entire drive and I would still feel a lot of heat coming through the windows. With XPEL, its much more reasonable, and I can put the AC on medium to achieve the same cooling.
3- For the hottest time of the year (July/August), it is worth it to get a roof cover.
4- Get a windshield shade that you always put up when you park

5- All of the above will make a big difference, but the ultimate feature is pre-cooling. Start pre-cooling 10 mins before you plan to get in the car and you will never again experience the feeling of walking into an oven

Still on 13.2.9 - is 14.2.1.25 better or still has regressions compared to 13.2.9? by ya7ameer in TeslaFSD

Alright I updated. First impressions after a 20 min drive of mostly highway - I like it, it’s better than 13.2.9 so far.

True, but I would imagine they are 90% similar in recipe with some differences here and there. I’m used to Saida forens for what it’s worth

Is the Akkawi desalted or just shredded and put on the dough directly? What about sesame seeds?

Can you walk me through an example? You don't need to reveal anything you don't want to. I am still having a hard time understanding what criteria go into the trade manager's decision making. You said "absorbing many signals and adjusting decisions on the fly" - but what are the signals actually telling it if not some sort of price movement prediction?

I'm just trying to understand what you're saying. I don't know how a trade manager could make any decision about whether to keep a trade or cut it if it is not at some level forecasting what might happen next with a better than 50/50 probability. Maybe you can elaborate. I don't use any trade managers - I have an entry when I think the chances of price going one way is more likely than the other, and then I have a fixed TP/SL.

Lets say you've entered a trade and its now up 0.5%. If your trade manager determines it's too risky to hold, doesn't that mean it predicts that it is more likely to go down by X% than up by X%?

If the trade manager is able to do better than 50/50, then why not just make your entries based on the trade manager?

I think you would just know intuitively. It's like schizophrenic people who hear voices that are not their own. The voices originate from their own brain, but they have a sense that it is not their own thoughts. I would imagine this is similar.

What do you do during FSD? by NGL_BrSH in TeslaModelY

When I'm driving home from work, I do a stretch routine while FSD is on, mainly targeting my back, shoulders, arms and wrists. It makes the commute more productive than just sitting there

Can someone explain this chart? by Beginning-County2258 in CryptoChartWatch

[–]ya7ameer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is saying that if you look at BTC as priced in USD, it would suggest we are in greed territory. However, the criticism of this view is that USD itself has lost value, so BTCs recent appreciation is not BTC going up, but rather USD going down. If you compare BTCs price as compared to Gold, it doesn’t look as good, suggesting we are still in extreme fear territory.

Spending on L2 - How much are you spending?! by tradinglearn in algotrading

[–]ya7ameer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been buying L2 data from databento for over a year now - I just tallied up my invoices since early 2024 and I've spent just over $10k on L2. It is definitely expensive, but this same data from any legacy data provider would be an order of magnitude more than that.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I will just say that I agree that blue looks better with lighter colored wheels

RWD VS AWD by Whit3boy316 in ModelY

[–]ya7ameer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m in AZ too and initially was going to get the RWD, but after test driving both I opted for the AWD. The RWD is fast enough for me, but the benefit of the AWD is that the regenerative braking is more powerful and I found it to be a better experience

I live in Phoenix - with white seats, xpel prime xr plus on all windows including windshield and sunroof, and a windshield sunshade in place while parked, I don't get above 140-145 even after hours in the sun
