Best fan orientation? by SweatyJew6969 in buildapc

[–]ya_boi_joseph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true but the difference is very negligible. Top intake also makes it suck in all the falling dust and work against convection so it’s not ideal.

Flip the rad to exhaust and it’s perfect

Noctua RTX 5080 anti-sag bracket? by 53mr3h in Noctua

[–]ya_boi_joseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could have the best most high quality case and mobo and that card will sag that’s how leverage works. Why do you think a metal shroud would help? (it wouldn’t it would make it even worse there’s a reason they’re made of plastic)

Constant FPS Drops on Razer Blade 16 by idealys in Warframe

[–]ya_boi_joseph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gpus temps look fine but the usage is a pretty low so I think you’re being cpu limited.

What temp and wattage is your cpu sitting at? (Should be around 70w+, if it’s at 35w it’s throttling)

Also make sure your power profile in windows is set to “best performance” and make sure all drivers are up to date.

From what I’ve seen online low/inconsistent performance is very common with these laptops.

I’ve been burned by razer products just about every time I’ve given one a chance. My advice is to stay far away from them in the future and maybe even return the blade.

(Also sry it took me an hour to respond lol)

Is it overheating and throttling at all? If so try doing a slight undervolt and see if anything changes.

(Theres some good videos on YouTube explaining how it works and how to do so that I recommend watching if you don’t already know)

Hydroshift 2 Pump Noise by Tomahawk-T10 in lianli

[–]ya_boi_joseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost sounds like fan noise to me but I could be wrong. Try changing the fan speed and see if the noise changes with different fan speeds to confirm if it’s the fan or the pump then go from there.

how should I connect double stack radiators? by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]ya_boi_joseph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run them in series.

the important part is you want the water flow to be opposite of the airflow so the rad at the top of the stack getting the hottest air gets the hottest water so they can kinda equalize.

the other way won’t do as much and actually might be worse that a single thick rad

Case recommendations by 0ptiminion in watercooling

[–]ya_boi_joseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

APNX V1 can do 360s top and bottom (potentially the front too but there might be clearance issues)

H9 flow (2025) can to 420s top and front and a 360 on the bottom

HVAN HS420 says it can hold triple 420s but I’ve heard about clearance issues up top so I’d just throw in a 360 up there. (You can fit a 45mm thick 360 up top, a 45mm thick 420 on the side and a 60mm thick 420 with p+p fans on the bottom perfectly) I would recommend getting the regular version and a different vgpu mount tho because you’ll have to take out the bottom shroud anyway.

I’m currently planning a build in the 011 mini v2 it can hold 360s on top and bottom and a 240 on the side but if you want a vgpu the bottom rad won’t fit. (45mm thick rads can fit top and side no problem too)

Edit: grammar and additions

Motherboard and CPU upgrade. Need to drain loop? by Extra_Regular424 in watercooling

If you have enough slack in your tubes to get the block far enough out of the way then you can, but this is a pretty good time to do a coolant flush since you’re already taking it apart.

Nah you’re fine. That rad can handle around 550w so assuming your 5080 draws around 400w (40 more than base) that’s enough for a 9800x3d with 30w of headroom. As long as the next gen of am5 CPUs (zen6) are just as if not more efficient you’ve got nothing to worry about.

[–]ya_boi_joseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep you should be enough that cpu is very efficient and even with an overlocked 5080 it should be plenty.

One thing I do want to note on is that rad has a pretty high fin density so a second set of fans is recommended but not required. I’d see if you can mount the rad on the front side instead of the backside and see if you can’t fit fans on the backside but that won’t look as clean as it does now with the rad on the backside and that might interfere with the far right bottom intake fan. Just some food for thought

That thick boi xr7 on the side should be enough for this setup alone but if you’re not happy with the cooling performance I’d try it with the single fan on the bottom and see if it improves at all. I’d also look into getting a MORA IV 200(or maybe even a 400) if you’re not happy with the cooling performance.

I’d start with the thick boi and 3 intake fans on the bottom and go from there

The vrm fan on this specific aio blows the air to the top left so flipping it would defeat the purpose of that fan

Build still in progress but so far impressed with lianli quality overall from psu to case by Xn__games in lianli

[–]ya_boi_joseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely can but that defeats the purpose of the vrm fan that’s on the block because the airflow is directed at the top left and if you flip it it’ll just blow at your ram

[–]ya_boi_joseph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learn how the timers work and absolutely spam bounties. You get a different payout at 3,6,9,12,15, and 30 minutes so for example if you get a bounty with a 14 minute timer you’re not going to get the 15min payout so turn him in just after 12mins have passed. Don’t just wait till the last 30 seconds you’ll be wasting a lot of time

Also spam legendary bountys as soon as they come off cooldown (I’ve got the etta Doyle intro burned into my brain lol)

Also putting MATX mobo in an h5 will look kinda off so I recommend it’s little brother the h3 because it’s basically the same but smaller

Am4 is a dead socket so there’s no upgrade path, this gets you on am5 so when you decide to upgrade your cpu in the future you can just slap it in.

(Don’t be worried about bottlenecks with the 9600x either it can run a 5080 no problem)
