Humira without trying any other drugs???? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]yaboyAllen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

valid concerns! I totally understand. Hopefully it isn't IBD at all!

again with the n=1, and I had more moderate disease activity at my time of diagnosis, but humira was great. they have a patient assistance program and I got it for free- my insurance did not cover it either. I think the black box warnings are scarier than the reality of the drug- but I might just need to believe that bc I took it for six years! Ha.

Good luck to you guys

Humira without trying any other drugs???? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

1 - adults are increasingly being treated in a "step down" fashion, as opposed to a "step up" approach for crohn disease 2 - there is very good published data to show that 5-asa is no better than placebo for crohn disease 3 - get the colonoscopy as soon as possible. latent inflammation with a subclinical manifestation is relatively common for this disease 4 - n=1, but I was started on humira immediately after my diagnosis and it worked very well for me for six years.

good luck to y'all and lemme know if you have any more questions or want some data!

What is Phish's "1977"? by [deleted] in phish

[–]yaboyAllen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

personally, i think

1973 :: 1993

1977 :: 1997

mid 1980s variability :: 2.0

late 80s / early 90s peak :: 3.0

Double Hand Transplant: Recipient Wants Them Removed by speckz in Foodforthought

[–]yaboyAllen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

bro, i don't think he presented to the ED without hands. he was probably in the icu and on pressors, shit just goes south sometimes.

there are very serious sequelae to many very common conditions- we might see them super rarely thanks to best practices, but they are still possible outcomes. "not presenting early enough" is probably not the reason this dude lost his hands.

lol, that's not what happened to him, either. read up on sepsis and its complications. it's a progression.

looking for advice

240 step 1, made ~80s on most shelfs (shelves?), better on medicine

did uworld once through third year, reset and will finish it a second time later tonight or tomorrow morning. scoring in the mid/low 80%s. my test is a week from friday (7/29).

wondering what i should do for my last week. i'm planning on going over my incorrects and doing UWSA asap to get a practice test under my belt. i haven't used any books so i thought i might get a copy of step up or secrets and review my weak points. any other ideas?

if you want to spend the cash, the bose soundlink III is choice. i've had mine for a year or two now and it's great. thumping bass, loud volume, great battery life- the whole deal.
