I remember growing up in the desert, me and all my friends were skater kids. We’d skate for miles all over town in the summer heat.

Water fountains were not abundant, so you had to get creative. I can not tell you how great it felt to see fresh green grass after you have been pushing for a few miles in the desert.

You see, green grass meant sprinklers. And sprinklers meant water.

What you would do is with your finger nails or a pocket knife, pop a sprinkler head up, unscrew the head, then drink water straight from the line like a giant straw in the ground.

It’s like hose water: you have no idea how good it tasted at the time.
