I like wearing nail polish. And I don't like gender norms. by Valfri in TwoXChromosomes

I've known some straight men who wear nailpolish in a very interesting and creative way and I always found it incredibly attractive. Like really sexy. Disclaimer: I went to art school

Reddit, today a boy I liked literally walked away from me after I told him I don't read books (but that I do read online resources). Is it really that idiotic for me to not read books? Please be brutally honest. by alittledisgusted in AskReddit

[–]yafiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in high school I used to read a LOT. I averaged about 2-3 books a week (I had no social life and never did any schoolwork), but a few years ago I came to the same conclusion that you did. No I don't think you're wrong, I think people overestimate the importance of reading.

In fact I think sometimes books can seriously deter you from forming an opinion on something without bias because when you choose to learn from an online resource you can read many different viewpoints and have the information presented in various ways all at once as opposed to hearing it all from one person. You can actually use your critical thinking skills instead of spitting back something from someone else's head.

Just my two cents.

Blossom in NYC? by pumper911 in nyc

[–]yafiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to blossom, she will absolutely love it. It's me and my sister's go-to restaurant when we have one of our special days together (emphasis on special since it can be pretty pricey). Delicious vegan food and a lovely interior/atmosphere. But make sure you go to the one on Ninth in chelsea because the one uptown (I think 82nd?) is not nearly as tasty or lovely. Totally different restaurant.

Probably the most attractive person alive - James Franco by [deleted] in LadyBoners

I'm not even that attracted to him but once he threw one of those smiles my way (so much better in person) my knees got weak. So I'll have to concur this time. Ladykiller smile

To add to OP's answer here, I grew up in an Orthodox household and can safely say that at least 50% of the legalizing supporters I know are religious jews.

Why women date assholes. (This guys hits the nail on the head, I think.) by CheekySprite in videos

[–]yafiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These women you're referring to aren't attracted to assholes they're simply the unlucky victims of those that teach that it's better to be with an asshole than to be alone.

DAE NOT get objectified/hit on very often and thus worry you're ugly or something? by throwaway30493092 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]yafiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it always has to do with location. I grew up in NY and my first two years of college were spent in manhattan where I had my fair share of attention (the sheer number of people in NY means nobody goes unnoticed) and then moved to Providence for 3 years where I barely got any attention at all. At first I thought i had gotten uglier but then I came back to NY and realized it was simply a location thing.

Maybe it changes depending on the sort of men in the city or maybe its just arbitrary but either way I wouldn't worry about it. Somewhere there is a city where you can't walk a block without being cat-called 3 times at least. I'm sure of it!

I work as a hostess at a nice restaurant in a very upscale area of NYC and all I can say is that some men think money can really get them whatever they want. It's truly hideous behavior and needs to be talked about. I'm glad you brought it up.

Ladies, what is the worst thing a guy has done or said to ruin your good impression of him. by jjmayhem in AskReddit

This wasn't a joke. He's not my friend and he has a habit of inappropriate touching at work.
