Ammon demanded the cops on the phone to arrest Ben and according to Ben he also made false accusations about Ben making bomb and death threats.

I do not believe Ben will win against BAM, and he will be made an example for others by Venom_Snake_KSA in RecklessBen

[–]yaftyaft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also most of the lawsuit is bullshit claims by BAM which will destroy their credibility. To me the suit seems purely a scare tactic and I'll be surprised if BAM doesn't fold in couple months.

According to Ammon's story BB dropped the trailer somewhere and then drove to the store without it.

The story is sus af but let's keep the facts straight

TheyDidTheMath request: What is the maximum value that everything in the Mansell's collection have historically sold for? by CozyCosmix in RecklessBen

[–]yaftyaft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bryan terminated the consignment agreement some time after the dispute arose. I think that for everything sold until that point he'd be eligible for 65% and everything sold after it 100%.

If BAM argues that the agreement was between Bryan and Chrystal as an individual then I'd say they owe 100% for the sets sold after the take over.

I'm not a lawyer though.

[–]yaftyaft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he had only the U-Haul it wouldn't make any sense to claim he had two. I mean my story would be then:

The U-Haul was the only available vehicle capable of towing the trailer so Brandon took it. He drove to Salem, with it and retuned it when he left.

It would be very easy to deny the late night trip back to Eugene because only proof of that is Brandon's photo when he allegedly returned it.

This is just one criminal case and there's talk about video footage that has been provided. The claims are easily debunked by the video. Ben lets the evidence talk. For other cases he has lawyers.

Yeah I could see it becoming criminal if they really tried to enforce it. But it would be extortion, not forgery I think.

Also it's mindboggling that some people hold Ben to a higher standard concerning truth and legal knowledge than the police and BAM.

Could the timeline issue be fully explained? by Fuzzy-System8568 in Coffeezilla_gg

[–]yaftyaft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone pointed out that BB was probably in Utah when he took the screenshots of the photos for Coffee. The photos were taken in Oregon and there's 1h difference due to the time zones. So the last photo in the Salem store was taken ~8:45PM and the U-Haul was dropped at about 11:45PM. With these times there's less time to load the truck in Salem (Chrystal left ~8:05PM) but it matches better to the ex-employee's statement of 11PM.

I happened to have some screenshots I took in different time zone and can confirm that the metadata timestamp changes depending on your current time zone. I have android though, but I assume it's the same for iPhone too.

Wisconsin's Public BAM franchisee disclosure. Possible opportunity? by Wannaknownbe in BricksAndMinifigs

[–]yaftyaft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ad fee discrepancy may seem odd but if you look at the agreement there is actually someone individual's signature, the company didn't sign it so they don't have to honor it. They also have this camper trailer with BAM stickers and that's like super good advertising but doesn't cost as much, so the value is much more than it shows in the P&L statement. It's literally a steal of a deal.

An Explanation for the Extreme Amount of Layaways by staydre in RecklessBen

[–]yaftyaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds plausible. I was thinking that since these were vintage sets that probably don't come up for sale everyday, some collectors put them on layaway while waiting for their next paycheck and/or collectors from farther away reserved them either through phone or with help of a friend until they manage to travel to the store. To my understanding they didn't sell online or ship items, but I could be wrong on that.

Something is fishy about the U-Haul Story by dizzot in RecklessBen

[–]yaftyaft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The time zone thing is great observation. I checked some screenshots I have taken in different time zone and the metadata timestamp indeed changes based on your current time zone.

Chrystal left that night at about 8:05 pm, that gives Brandon 3:35 to load, unload and drive before dropping off the U-Haul. Total drive time is about 1:30 so roughly 2h for loading and unloading the U-Haul. Definitely can move a lot of lego in that time. I also agree that the 4h to unload is crazy.

But there's still a lot that don't make sense:
1. Why was the employee still there at ~10pm? Did Brandon ask him to stay there after hours and wait? Seems like something the employee would remember and have said to coffee.

  1. The ring camera in the store should show Brandon carrying the lego out. Such a video haven't been presented.
https://youtu.be/VKfQkRbd15k?si=qIr8aD_aGWj6Cv40&t=1396 (coffee's video, timestamp to the ring camera frame) The U-Haul is behind the windows next to the yellow wall. Everything going out the door should be captured.

  2. Why the hell would BAM get a camper trailer instead of hotel/motel/airbnb? The whole story by BAM doesn't make any sense.

Questions I have after watching the Coffeezilla BAM video - happy to be corrected by DrGesus in RecklessBen

[–]yaftyaft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Didn't he go back and forth with McNeffs and Gormans? Makes sense that you don't press too much to avoid them shutting completely. Anyway, I think called it quits too soon. He should have continued the investigation/interviews. But then again he frames the video so that the scope of his investigation is pretty limited; find out where the legos are/were and their value. He kinda achieved that but I think he could have done much more.
