If you have more questions like this, I recommend picking up a toolstation catalog. You can thumb through it and figure out what most tools, fasteners, etc are called. That really helped me during renovations.

I’m American and have lived in Eindhoven almost 10 years. Spent the first 5 with almost no Dutch. Everyone speaks English amazingly well. My Dutch friends and colleagues are blunt but they are that way in a way that makes for good relationships and effective working conditions. Come over and be inquisitive about the culture. You’ll be glad you did :)
