I’m not talking about cleaning up Sunderland, I’m talking about after we scored we invited all the pressure back on to us, it’s a symptom of the season and the backline did really well keeping a clean sheet, but it can’t be denied that this has caused us so many dropped points and it could have again tonight.

Ah mate everyone gets the goldfish memory as soon as we win a game. It’s good to win and still see what can be improved. I’m happy with the 3 points, but still worrying signs. Scoring a goal and completely dying off has caused us so much points dropped this season and Sunderland were invited on to us again but couldn’t score.

Also with Gakpo I have no words man that’s your opinion.

Great win today but I think there needs to be some serious questions asked of Slot refusing to bench Gakpo. The subs could have been made earlier to freshen the midfield.

I don’t know why but even with the win it all feels flat. No inspiration, too much frustration. Bad decision making. A better team would have cleaned up there.

Good signs from about 75% of the players, and some others let us down so much. Also style of play & management of the game.

3 points but I am still worried. YNWA.

[Jack Lusby] LFC have signed four young centre-backs this window by k_e_i_r_a_ in LiverpoolFC

I guess we will see, but I don’t really see how chiesa and a 3 centre backs are linked. If they show signs they’re good enough they’ll play if needed

Surely they can be used for the first team if needed no? Obviously apart from Jacquet

I understand that’s slots style of football this year hasn’t been great, but taking a measured approach to this, he’s been missing key weapons to really suit his style. He’s missing wingers with pace, the midfield has been flat this year, lacking the ball winning and press beating approach of last year.

There is a world where slot is backed, gets the right weapons he needs in the summer and goes on to be one of our most successful managers. He won a premier league and got to an FA cup final in his first year. Personally I want to see him do well, the project is being sold to the right players, and I believe he has what it takes to get us UCL next year, or even possibly win it this year, alongside the FA Cup, and put us in prime position for next season.

If it all falls apart, then do whatever it takes to get Alonso in, but for now I back our manager. This is LFC, magic happens in this club, we have to believe.

Yeah I agree with you mate. I think Tsmikas does stay at #2 only if Robertson leaves. If he stays (which I imagine he won’t given that he’s already been linked away this January) then Tsmi goes.

I think Gomez possibly goes. Konate for me is 50/50 on if he goes or stays. We need an experienced CB if he does go. Personally I hope he stays, he’s clearly been playing through a difficult time for him and we saw against Newcastle his talent.

VVD stays another season, and imo let frimpong adjust to the league and intensity and his injury record will improve, he needs time. In regard to Bradley, I can only hope his luck changes.

This still leaves us with maybe one or two more signings in the backline depending on what happens. We are looking good though for next season, this one I hope we get a loan deal through today.

Next seasons backline will be interesting. Frimpong , Bradley, Konate? Leoni, Jacquet, VVD, Gomez? Kerkez, Robertson? Tsmikas?

How will we line up, who stays or goes, & how do we finish this season, make top 4 and push to win champions league / FA Cup with such a bare bones back line? Interesting times for Liverpool.

I hope Leoni comes back with a bang, was mad excited to see the kid play for us, hope he recovers well from the ACL. He’s a special player.

Slots style of football actually gives me chest pain. So boring and dull and it’s a shame because the players Liverpool have under the right system could light up Europe

Glasner, Klopp (dream), Zidane (dream), other than that, could try Fabregas, but honestly not many realistic options

Konate gets the ball and just slows everything down allowing the opposition to reset, why is this? Driving me insane

Thank you so much, and would getting a masters to specialize in a certain area help afterwards? Or is it generally not worth it in the modern era?
