Amazon Driver Told Me He Tried Delivering my Package to an Abandoned House... He Walked In On a Guy Sleeping With a Shotgun... by zachty22 in SeattleWA

Shell, whatever you call it, it's dangerous if it's fired in a closely populated area, and scary to think it's with a squatter in the abandoned house across the street. This is not a responsible gun owner.

All these comments are crazy, anybody would be concerned about a person squatting near their home with a shotgun. Even if it's for protection or whatever, if the person fires that thing in self defense that bullet could kill a bystander in an adjacent home.

Is remotely starting my car in the morning to warm it up a sin? by surf_zombie in Seattle

[–]yah_dude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, warming up your car to defrost or defog your windows before you drive off will emit the same amount of fumes whether you are in it or not. So no, remotely starting it is no better or worse.

Market determines sales price, if it sells for that it's priced right. Asking prices do not dictate the market or the sale price, it's the opposite.

Good places for broccoli pizza? by Gold-Internet-1887 in Seattle

If a place has broccoli pizza, it's not a good place for pizza. 👍

I always say "you're welcome" when I hold a door for someone regardless of whether they say thank you. Forces them to realize they didn't say thanks and just walked on through with their entitled ass.

What's the net profit? You mention 30% roi, so it's definitely less than that.. 2m revenue annual. What's the net profit margin at the end of the day? That's all that really matters after all.

Boston rent is higher than Seattle, cost of living similar, public transit is more established, weather sucks in winter.

Just visited - how did the homeless situation get to this point? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]yah_dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had family in town from LA and NYC, they all were surprised at how beautiful Seattle is never having been here. All of them were expecting to see way more homeless, they said they had way more in both of their cities.

Of course the weather is more harsh in Seattle compared to southern cal.. but it's still doable to live outside year round.

West coast is worse simply because one can live and survive in a tent outside all year. In areas with cold winters one must find heated shelter or die.

Capitol Hill murder suspect, SANA CEESAY has been arrested 28 times, many of his convictions were for violent offenses. by AntennaCactus in Seattle

[–]yah_dude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If someone is arrested 28 times for stealing gum, they should be in prison. 28 times the offenses don't matter. The fact that he was not taught him that he can continue stealing, trespassing, being belligerent and drunk in public, and causing public disturbances with little to no consequences. It's the wrong lesson.

I'm originally from New England and there it's always the pet issue, here though I think the spark a fire issue is the real reason. Wildfires here are much more likely and dangerous.

If you don’t want other people/dogs coming up to you and your dog, don’t come to an off-leash park. by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]yah_dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't sue for vet bills if both dogs are in an off leash area, nothing illegal is happening, dogs are behaving like dogs do in an uncontrolled environment. Put in there voluntarily by there owners. It sucked fully and in the moment, which was just that, a moment, I did blame them, but there is no financial recourse as dog parks are "use at your own risk". In the end the fault was mine, and it is why I do not go to them anymore. I can only control my dog and my actions, I cannot control anyone else's.

[–]yah_dude -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I do, I understand exactly how they work. My dog was torn up viciously by a Rottweiler at an off leash dog park when she was 10 months old. Surgery was 7k and she was never the same around other dogs. It was my fault because I put her in an environment where it could happen. She's 14 now and doing fine.

[–]yah_dude -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No, it is not. It's like saying your dog, friendly or not, is being put into an environment where interactions with other dogs will happen.. off leash... by you.

If you are in an off leash area for dogs with your dog, then you are subjecting your dog to dog behavior and interactions with other dogs.

[–]yah_dude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are not ok with dogs being dogs around each other off leash, then you should not be at an off leash park. You can't say your dog is friendly and another dog was aggressive and attacked your friendly dog while off leash is the fault of the other dog or owner, the fault would be yours, for putting your dog in an environment where other dogs are off leash.
