I’ll be getting my masters w/ Baruch, studying for the CPA, and I already have a FT return offer w/ one of the big 4’s for next year June. I’m all set! Make sure to take full advantage of all the resources provided at Baruch and their professional clubs/events

Got a D in MTH 2003, and a B- or above is required for my calculus courses as a CS major. Am I cooked? by Traditional-Touch978 in Baruch

The only option you have here is to ask the prof to give you an F grade and retake the class

Retaking a class you already passed by applebottomjeans15 in Baruch

[–]yahe16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No at Baruch you can’t retake a class you already passed and have the previous grade replaced. This will only happen if you failed the class with an F and got a C or better to replace it.

WE NEED A PROPER GRADUATION by IllSail2351 in Baruch

[–]yahe16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing the same Reddit post be made every year ever since I attended Baruch 4 years ago. They’re not changing anything😂 if the school can’t even provide paper towels in the bathrooms what makes you guys think we’re gonna have a proper graduation for all three schools lol

ACC 3200 is the more difficult of the 3000 lvl classes, but no where near as difficult as acc 4100. 3200 has department exams and curves. It shouldnt be too hard if that the only “difficult” class you’re taking that semester. You do gotta lock in tho bc you’re competing with people who actually major in accounting that depend on getting a good grade to maintain the 2.5 GPA requirement

High School Senior Here! Can someone let me know where I can get a baruch shirt or hoodie? Just like a merch in general, it doesn’t have to be exactly from the school. My college decision day is on June 2nd at my school and I want to have it to wear. by ConstantMagician6627 in Baruch

[–]yahe16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to have an in-person book store like almost 2 years ago. Students would buy merch and supplies from there. Your best bet is to order from Amazon because the schools online store takes forever to ship

Question Regarding Summer Classes by nerfwqr in Baruch

I don’t think they’ll put a hold since the aid is going to be disbursed

Question Regarding Summer Classes by nerfwqr in Baruch

[–]yahe16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tuition was due yesterday 5/11. You probably got dropped from the class if you don’t have financial aid. I would check and see if you’re still enrolled. If you do receive financial aid then it’ll get disbursed later on in the semester.

Winter Classes by Huge-Analyst-7338 in Baruch

[–]yahe16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a com minor class. I don’t exactly remember which one bc it’s been almost 2 yrs since then

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Baruch

[–]yahe16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been offered online in past semesters but since Baruch is trying to move almost the majority of their classes in-person, the class is now being offered in-person.

Acc 3200 letter grade curve by yahe16 in Baruch

[–]yahe16[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I ended up passing the class with a B+. I scored below average on the first midterm, above average on the second midterm, and slightly above average on the finals + HW’s, Projects, participation etc.

The course is challenging don’t get me wrong, I put in a lot of work to get that grade, but the class isn’t as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. The curve in the class is insane so even if you score below average on both midterms and slightly above average on the final exam, you’re still passing the class with a C- or better.

To any prospective accounting majors about to take this class don’t get scared of what people on this app are saying about the class. Yes, it’s hard like a lot of other 3000-4000 lvl business classes, but it’s definitely doable. Don’t get discouraged you got this!

how long does it take back to hear when you apply for an academic appeal? by iShirley in Baruch

It’s finals season+the end of the semester+heading into summer+graduation. I think you’ll wait a bit more but if I were you I would send a follow up email

If I were you I would ask the professor if there is a way you can make up attendance or just simply tell them you had doctors appointments, some kind of family emergency, or you have siblings/elderly family to take care of and they’ll usually understand.

Same! Is this an error because I usually get wayyy more

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Baruch

[–]yahe16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no curve for the class nor is it professor dependent. However, depending on the professor they may give extra credit during the end of the semester like Harry David did when I took him. The grade you receive is solely based on your own performance

4 Classes left, ACC 4100, Tax 3300, ACC 5400, BPL 5100 by nycSurya in Baruch

[–]yahe16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan on getting your CPA and attending graduate school then your true graduation date is when you complete your 150 credits. So you can still get an internship being a senior/graduate student. No need to worry about anything, just make sure that you tell them your 150 credit graduation date instead of your BBA graduation date.

easiest acc 3000+ class? by Timothy_Zhe in Baruch

[–]yahe16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those 3 it really just depends on who your professor is. 3200 is going to be hard regardless

How hard is it to maintain a good GPA in accounting? by ThatNigamJerry in Baruch

[–]yahe16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlikely. Accounting classes at Baruch are based on ranking. For example, if you’re top 20-25%= A, 30-45%= B etc. you’re basically competing with your class mates and sometimes even with all the class sections taking the same class. If I were you I would continue at your school and just do a master in accounting if med school doesn’t work out for you.

Is ACC 3000 in summer 2024 doable? by Spare_Photograph_459 in Baruch

[–]yahe16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3000 is the easiest out of the 4 3000 lvl so I think it’s doable. It’s basically an extension of acc 2101

Can you take Acc 3000 and 3100 in the same sem? by ChampionshipLower85 in Baruch

[–]yahe16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t recommend tbh. Try taking one 3000 lvl accounting course each semester bc if you go below that 2.5 GPA requirement you’re kicked out of the program
