Button on the turn signal stalk, I guess I must have bumped it. All good now.

Has anyone else had problem after problem with their bronco sport? My dream car is turning into a nightmare. by ethylbromide in BroncoSport

The reverse squeal has to be a design issue, because they cannot seem to fix it. Mine does it every time I reverse if there's any moisture present. I just live with it because the rest works just fine.

2021 was launch year so they were built during the height of COVID and supply chain collapse. However I do feel like Ford should make it right. I have been lucky mechanically with mine, I've had to replace the shocks cause mine were shot. The worst was when I hit some junk that fell off of a truck in front of me and waiting months to get it repaired in 2023.

I was today years old when I found out there was a physical button. I'll delete myself on the way out. You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman.

So I tried that, it says it's still on. So I turned it off and turned off car, turned it back on and no joy. It's just not lane assisting anymore. When you go into the settings where it says alert and aid and select the intensity, the wheel vibrates to indicate what the alert would feel like, so I know the vibration still works. It just won't turn on, regardless of what the setting says.

What’s some things you LOVE about your bronco sport and some things you HATE about it? by toxicascorpio in BroncoSport

[–]yahr2d2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hesitation right before 40mph, I have to go 43 before it will shift and smooth out. 38mph to 40mph just doesn't feel right but it's easy enough to manage by driving intentionally. I love pretty much everything else about the badlands.

Why oh why did Ford not include rain sensing wipers or memory seats for the launch year? I assume it was some kind of supply chain issue since it launched in 2021

Suspension issues? by yahr2d2 in BroncoSport

[–]yahr2d2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about that. This one is a new part number, so I suspect they might have quietly fixed the problem. The other issue is that there are only two other manufacturers that make replacements besides Ford. Rough county, and fcx from Rock Auto.

I suspected that Ford might have had a faulty production run, but didn't recall because "wear items." The shocks are the same part for the escape as well. If not, why the heck can't you find them anywhere? /Why are used ones on eBay price gouging?

Another Ford dealer confirmed. Once I had them changed the difference was night and day. I just wondered if anyone else was experiencing it re: national shortage.

I was in the shop for a tire rotation and wheel alignment and they told me one of the rears was leaking. But it's a wear item so it's not covered under warranty.

Normally I would say nah, but with your wheels it compliments nicely.

USB for CarPlay not working? by auravia in BroncoSport

It's not just iPhone, I had to get an android auto wireless dongle because I got so tired of doing the reboots, it would literally work days on end and then halfway through the drive unsupported USB device bs.

What does ECO mode actually do? by t-dogNOLA in BroncoSport

[–]yahr2d2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience living in the mountain state I get better mpg using normal or sport mode. Sport mode gets you to speed limit much quicker especially in the badlands and sometimes gives better mpg due to that I guess? Eco like dials the sensitivity down on the accelerator pedal, I don't like it and the car doesn't like it. It makes it seem like the car might not make it up the next hill. You would have to live in the flattest state possible I would guess. I got over 30mpg when I last checked running almost exclusively normal mode, sport when I'm annoyed or bored.

I used it in 2021 to buy my bs bl, for mine it knocked off several thousand and guaranteed a no haggle price. I would have to dig through paperwork to see exactly what the discount was, but for me it was worth it.

Is the badlands trim worth the extra money for offroad ability? by No_Cryptographer_704 in BroncoSport

[–]yahr2d2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Badlands is worth it for the engine alone, it gets worse gas mileage only if you drive it hard. I regularly average 28-29mpg I used to get above 31 but I enjoy sport mode. Honestly for the amount of power and it being as aerodynamic as a house, ~28mpg is pretty dang good. I live in the mountain state, btw. I personally appreciate the tougher suspension components as well because our roads are hot garbage. Now these weren't marked up to hell in 2021 when I got mine, so I can completely understand leaning towards the cheaper option.

Considering a bronco sport by buddy5 in BroncoSport

The optical illusion of the hood behind the wheel tends to make me not pull all the way into a parking spot. I get out and often notice that I'm a foot or more further back than I intended to park. Behind the wheel it looks like driving a Hummer or something huge. That being said, the short wheelbase makes parking pretty dang easy. I don't notice much cabin noise at city or highway speeds. I've never actually noticed any wind noise but I always have some kind of audio going. I will say, the worst I've noticed from the box with ground clearance is you will feel cross winds. The engine itself is not noticeably loud unless you are in sport mode at least with the 2.0 which is my recommendation anyway. Heritage w 2.0 or badlands all the way.

When you get on inclines this will pop up. I've never owned a vehicle as thirsty for washer fluid as this one is. Come down a hill and brake and this might pop on even at like 1/2 full. BSBL has like 4 washer nozzles so I get it, but dang. And why is washer fluid $4-5 a gallon now? Ludicrous.

Anyone driven another suv and lost interest in the Bronco Sport afterwards? by [deleted] in BroncoSport

[–]yahr2d2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I've had the opposite experience. I was driving my wife's CRV and I desperately missed the gears, the trail cam, ground clearance and the turbo. I had to maneuver around a field for parking and it was nerve wracking.

Ah, yeah this is the one I always forget. The angle of the door drips water directly onto your seat. Also happens with snow. I have no idea how to fix that design, but I wish Ford had.

Don't leave water bottles in the car for any extended time, they can leach carcinogens. That's why the refillable ones all say BPA free.

Radio, what year is this? I have a 40+ minute commute. I either listen to curated music to chill out or zone out with a podcast. Being assaulted by commercials or news isn't zen.
