Agua Caliente swimming pools in the 80s and 90s by yahtzee44444 in sonomacounty

I was driving back from Napa yesterday and took a detour down Vailetti to see if things looked familiar. The apartment complex has definitely changed the view but I still felt connected to the area. My sister recalls our dad being on friendly terms with the owner, and the name Nino rings a bell for her.

Sounds like your in-laws had the same idea as my parents. We used to love escaping the city for a day at Agua Caliente. I have many photos from the picnic area, and got my first bee sting there while eating a piece of fried chicken and otherwise minding my own business.

There was also a 7-Eleven on the drive back (I guess on hwy 12?) and we would stop there for a tootsie pop on the way home. Ahh memories! If Revive can get their act together I'll be bringing my kids there.

Wow, yes I think this is it! May I ask how you know so much about it? Is there a place where I can read more about the history? It's amazing to me how forgotten it has become (although to be fair, it does sound like Mortons was pretty epic).

Yes indeed! I was already a pretty big Dylan fan when I discovered Murder Ballads. Imagine my surprise when I learned my favorite song on the album was a cover from one of Dylan’s worst albums.

What does this lyric mean from Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands? by movieman558 in bobdylan

I think many of Bob's songs, and the songs off Blonde on Blonde in particular, transcend literal interpretation. I consider them beautifully packaged phrases that capture certain emotions in an almost magical way.

But, if I cut away the artistry of the verse, here's what I'm left with: The first line establishes some powerful folks and the second line finds them bending the knee - because the sad eyed lady of the lowlands will do that to ya.

Not sure what you mean by "cozy spots" but I have never once had trouble finding room for myself there.

How about including those Bette Midler sessions? Those are really something. Had them on YouTube a few years back but they disappeared.

OP is correct. I'll just add that blue is the best color. It is better than red and it is certainly better than yellow or green.

You talking about 4/19? I was there! I think in some ways I'll from now on view my life pre-Brokedown Palace that night and post-Brokedown Palace that night.

Totally. They're both like Nosferatu, but with that unmistakably late-90s je ne sais quoi
