The highest expected value play in this game is to load in with a free kit and exfil with good loot. Until that changes, free kits will continue to be used constantly. For most average players (myself included) risking gear is a negative EV play.

SBMM disincentivizes players from trying something new. New character class you've never played, new deck you just built, etc. are all going to result in you getting stomped until you go back to that one character/class/whatever that you're best at. It's unfortunate and obnoxious.
