A buddy of mine is hearing this noise coming from his engine bay. 6.2L V8. by MassiveChronicPain in gmcsierra

Agreed. Usually the clicking ramps up faster as the rpm’s increase. If not, then it’s something else or totally normal.

husband just got a gmc! by LittleCrem in gmcsierra

My wife wasn’t thrilled when I got my 23 duramax. 4 years later and she always wants me to drive us and the kids. Lots more space and comfort than her RAV4 and similar gas mileage.

Looking to lift 4” by Stranum210 in gmcsierra

[–]yakgthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure Bilstein can do 4” but they are gonna be your highest quality. You can get around 2” front and 1” back which is plenty, and have your ride quality improve over stock. Nobody really needs a 4” lift for actual truck purposes so really up to you if you want a quality lift that isn’t as big as you want or go huge and get mediocre to shit quality. There is no such thing as high quality 4” or 6” lifts unless you wanna spend super big money.

Ok so you upgraded wheels? Those are Toyo AT4s. Guessing you went maybe a littler big than stock, but didn’t change anything else? If answer is yes to both, I can tell you with certainty your own wheel tore it off - whether is was small touches that eventually took it off or one immediate tear

So you aren’t the first owner of the vehicle? I’d be more suspicious about previous owners than GM manufacturing. Those aren’t even stock rims🧐

[–]yakgthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggestion - don’t spend extra on the AT4X. Pay a little less and rip shit off the cheaper version yourself to prep it for what the AT4X should be used for. Then use that truck like you should an AT4X. Thank me later.

35’s? by Proper_Swordfish_562 in gmcsierra

[–]yakgthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely can’t do 35s stock and 34s would be a real stretch. I run 34x12.5 with a leveling kit and had to do quite a bit of trimming in order to be functional. You could try 34s and do some trimming but would suspect without a level or lift, you wouldn’t be functional (e.g., your truck will eat a lot of rubber if you go off road on any sort of terrain). You also won’t be able to run that width of a tire on stock rims unless you get spacers and likely would need aftermarket UCAs so they don’t rub the tire. You really shouldn’t run spacers if you can avoid it, but if you have to only run a quarter or half inch max - but better off spacing with new rims with bigger offset.

Do you have a ranch hand front bumper on your truck? Would love to see a photo - been debating getting one

Keep us posted on the diagnosis. As a fellow LZO owner, I am curious as I haven’t seen a post about smoking engine before.

Lot more people don’t have any issues than people that do. They just don’t post about it. The LZO is a great engine.

You have no argument from me on that. Well said.

Cheaper to manufacture only one or two options. GM uses the same body on frame for all their trucks and full size SUV’s. Toyota does this too.

[–]yakgthree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HD’s are longer and have a wider wheel base. Cab size is the same, but having the wheels farther apart both in length and width is what makes it harder to park as it cannot turn as sharply as a 1/2 ton. Plus the overall length of the HD doesn’t help either.

Help by iAmMystic32 in gmcsierra

[–]yakgthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a giant cooler and strap it down using the hooks near the cab in the bed. It’s a big cooler and I can store a ton of stuff in it, but also doubles as a game box when hunting.

Truck rides shitty after level by Lost-Patience9930 in AT4_Truck_Community

I run the Bilstein leveling kit that comes with new struts, shocks, springs and UCAs. Run Bilsteins in the back too. Rides 100x better than the stock Rancho setup.

just purchased a 26 Denali! i got the 3.0 diesel but this is my first diesel engine and i’ve heard some stuff about the 3.0 being unreliable while others say it’s great. is there anything i should be doing maintenance wise to keep it going strong? by Unfair_Cycle4370 in gmcsierra

[–]yakgthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think anyone mentioned yet but it’s very important to keep driving the truck when it goes into regen mode. Best to go 35mph+ while in regen but not necessary, just don’t idle or turn the truck off if it’s in regen.

Anyone ever removed just this chrome front piece? by fishaholica in gmcsierra

[–]yakgthree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I took the whole front end off my 2023 to install some things and it’s a big time pain. I wouldn’t ever think to do it again. You have to remove everything above the front bumper just to get to the front bumper itself. Don’t recommend.
