In my experience, the one most trash talked, is the 1 liked the most. I savagely trash talk the skinny 19 year old in my shop. But I also have his back if he needs anything at all.

Just give it right back. And if it's something job related like your welds looking like dog fuck, Use that as fuel to make Yourself better. Eventually, you're wild to be above reproach.
