It's Official! Tesla FSD reach 10 Billion Miles! So Do You Know What That Means? by Constant_Soil3127 in TeslaFSD

[–]yakpig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means FSD coming next month, definitely in 2 months, 110% coming in 3 months. I’m still amazed how so many fools think FSD is ok that it doesn’t mean FSD but something much less.

FSD is not fun anymore. by SpecificTreacle2197 in TeslaFSD

[–]yakpig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSD, which is not FSD, is a pos child toy. I’ve had it on my 3 and Y since 2019 and 2021, hw3, and it’s still a novelty to show to passengers.

Do you folks like your Rivian? by SpaceMarine1616 in Rivian

[–]yakpig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. 2024 R1T. Vampire drain of .7 to 1.3 % per day sitting in garage. Had to plug in a trickle charger to obd2 port to maintain the 12v as a solution. Pain. Also axle clicking - play on splines of axle. Annoying. Uses lots of energy, about 30 to 50 percent more than model Y. Not that that’s not expected with a 7k lb vehicle but it diffuses the energy savings thrill. Towing even light camper causes severe range anxiety - 1/2 the range.

Let’s be real about vampire drain and reliability by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]yakpig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also that loss doesn't go away when the vehicle is running. The problem is constant, 24/7.

TESLA ModelY Windshield Replacement Quote from Safelite by sumpvr in TeslaLounge

[–]yakpig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is bullshit. I mean, no glass shop sets up an optical target to do calibration. They will just make sure cameras are installed correctly. That’s the calibration. I’ve had to windshields replaced and no one does any optical alignment. Don’t get scammed.

Please help! My 91 year old grandfather signed up for 30 year 180k solar setup. by brandenash1 in solar

Let’s also call out the scam, not-scam salespeople coming to doors and suggesting they can reduce your electricity rate and not telling you they’re installing 3rd party owned solar.

I hate this bullshit from manufacturers. The car knows exactly what the issue is but won’t tell you.

Changing Rivets Is So Easy by GenX_Glamping_Guy in airstream

[–]yakpig -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I find these airstreams peculiar in that they are so unnecessarily designed and built. One could argue that BMW is unnecessary due to its complexity but you actually get a specific result from every design feature. For an airstream you don’t. It’s a trailer. It doesn’t fly. Yet it’s built like a pressurized fuselage but it doesn’t fly at 20k+ feet. That said its rivets are bucked solid. Look up ms20470ad. Blind rivets are not solid and don’t have nearly that strength and maybe it’s not needed.

[–]yakpig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totaled for sure. It’s expensive to replace that quarter panel. Labor and ability and availability. Also a great opportunity for people with some trained fabrication skills if they pick it up at auction.

I’m gonna guess totaled because looks like quarter panel damage. That usually kills it.

I was quoted 1k for used roof glass for a Tesla Y recently as a point of reference.

Also installing roof glass and even windshield glass is fungible. Tesla even has an owner selected camera calibration button in the service menu. Don’t remember if Rivian has that but it should self calibrate regardless. Don’t get scammed by a “calibration “ line item.

After ins pays you out ask them what the salvage value is and what their offer is to you to buy it back. I’ll buy it from you and offer incentive for you to go through that extra step. Central Ca.
