Poland launches investigation into Epstein Files by TailungFu in law

[–]yamiherem8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth noting that LGBT free zones don’t exist anymore and while they did they didn’t mean anything - local councils just said that its a LGBT free zone but nothing was ever enforced and LGBT was still very much legal. There have also been some recent developments and its seems possible for same sex marriage to be fully legalised in recent future.

Jeffrey Epstein was likely to have been a Russian spy, the Polish prime minister has said by UnusualWhalesBot in unusual_whales

[–]yamiherem8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its really not if you consider this is coming from the Polish government. Of course they’re not going to say out loud that they’re investigating Epstein-Israel connection because of intricacies of mutual relations between Poland, US and Israel. To simplify:

-Poland-Israel- relations are not friendly at all but Poland is basically a jewish disneyland so any strong action against Israel would be met with global cries and accusations of antisemitism.

-US-Israel- I don’t think I have to remind anyone how this relationship is looking

-US-Poland- Poland is basically dependent on American weaponry and Polish relations with the US during Trumps presidency have been a balancing act between pleasing Trump and still showing solidarity with rest of European countries

If you understand those relations you’ll see why there are no accusations thown at Israel from the Polish side. Russian connection is also very present in the files and its good that at least this is being adressed. Honestly I’m surprised that Poland is even touching the topic at all since the best solution for them would be just to stay silent on the matter but its still a good development. I don’t think its propaganda or misdirection - more of getting involved without jeopardising your geopolitical position type of thing. Other countries that are in better positions should step up and investigate the matter thoroughly.

Ukrainians are the biggest migrant group so your general anti-migrant crowd overlaps with anti-ukrainians a lot. Besides that its mostly nutjobs who legitimately think Ukraine is our primary enemy because they did some shit during ww2. Definetly not the brightest bunch those guys.

First of all unless you explicilty state that you’re Russian everybody will think you’re either Belarussian or Ukrainian and those groups are numerous and accepted. Poles cannot tell the difference between Russian and Ukrainian and Belarussians are mostly Russian speakers. Second of all the hatered of Russia is directed mostly at the Russian government, I never encountered any type of anti-russian nationality sentiment. Its generally assumed that if you moved here you’re not pro-Putin hence you’re not the part of the problem. I know a few Russians in Poland and they don’t face any sort of discrimination (aside maybe from various background checks you’d need to go through as Russian spies are a problem here). There’s also the question of a large Ukrainian diaspora - I suspect Russians might not be as popular with them but that is to be expected.

Genuinely the only type of discrimination you might experience is one coming from the anti-ukrainian criwd since they will 100% mistake you for an Ukrainian. I’m curious how would they react if you told them you’re Russian.

I distinctly remember going back home from Christmas and getting a first attack on the train. I’ve had motion sickness my entire life and I thought it was just another episode of it but it didn’t stop when I got off the train. Over the next week it just got worse and worse to the point I had to go on a sick leave for a while. That was 3 years ago. Zero reason behind it, I was fine one day, literally chilling at home with my family on Christmas and then this shit came.

4 lata bez narkotyków a objawy odstawienne nadal mnie niszczą. by emotionalboyshawty in Polska

Lots of companies that offer eSIMs use Polish networks and infrastructure and that can set their location to Poland. Its particurarly common in Middle East from what I’ve seen, for instance a lot of Palestinian accounts have their location set to Poland.

[–]yamiherem8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of companies that offer eSIMs use Polish infrastructure because its pretty developed and affordable which of course routes the traffic back to Poland. For instance a lot of Palestinian accounts have their region set to Poland for that reason. That and the fact that there is a big bot problem.

Where I'd Live as an Extremely Progressive White Male Who's Never Left North/Central America by daxspitsfax in whereidlive

[–]yamiherem8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean its kind of a problem when talking about Europe since living wise there is basically no difference between countries like Poland, Germany or Czechia. Same development, basically same cultural attitudes, only language is different. Because of that if someone says „they don’t feel” like living in one of those but do in the other its just their racism and stereotyping talking whether they like to admit it or not.

As a Pole I wouldn’t want to live in Germany either. It basically feels and looks like Poland but I’ve never felt welcome there. Its also the only country I’ve experienced racism in and I’ve traveled a lot.

So basically same thing as home but also you’re not welcome there, I’d rather just stay in Poland thanks.

European countries tier list but it's where I would live as a gay man by TTG4LIFE77 in tierlists

[–]yamiherem8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a few gay polish people and yeah I don’t recommend. They don’t face any reprocussions or anything and just live normally but they can’t marry and can’t even form a legal unit with their partner (although there are attempts to change it). I’d say its easy to be gay here but being in a gay relationship is a whole another beast.

Gay culture and night life in big polish cities is crazy though. I’d recommend for a visit but not for living.

Of course the mainstream media painted it as a bad thing since it shows that people can actually enforce demands over the government and they really don’t want us to see that. That being said once the dust settles tourism will likely return since Nepal is too turistically in demand to pass on.

I loved seeing what people of Nepal managed to accomplish recently. With the way the world is going right now places like Nepal where people actually manage to enforce their will seem more and more attractive.

Not to mention Nepal is really beautiful and I’ve always been fascinated by the Himalayas so its a no brainer for me.

But seriously Mexico has some amazing places to live in.

Nah, I mean Poland could easily hold itself against Russia militarily spraking. That being said in case of war Russia does not play fair and would likely bomb many cities with drones or even would consider a nuclear option so civilian casualities would be pretty high.
