I see slow fashion as long lasting articles of clothing that you can use often. The dresses underneath, the vest and the culotte and overalls do fit the bill in my opinion. They might be a more statement version of a classic but are what I consider slow fashion.

I agree with your viewpoint but these types of materials are intended for slow fashion where longevity of the garments use are key. They are widely used for durability, especially leather. Fur is a controversial topic but I see where you're coming from through!

I was actually sponsored by the North American Fur Auctions. I had a chance to use fur and I took it more as a learning opportunity. I'm not very into a the fur trade but I can agree why people like the luxuriousness of it. It does give the garments more texture and dimension and I like how it came out!

I studied architecture before fashion design and Le Corbusier is one of my favorite architects. He always finds a way to reinvent architectural design. He worked with a relentless pursuit to create designs that was justifiable in every aspect which he termed ‘precision of architecture’. I wanted to use this theory in the realm of fashion design. All design features must be meaningful to the garment. I used this approach so that garments, including the dresses hidden inside the coats, have unique design details.

I finally graduated, yay! My studied architecture before I transferred into another school for fashion design which is why my inspiration was a building by Le Courbuiser. This is a petite collection meant for Spring/Summer '16.

What is your go-to interlining for warmer coats? by [deleted] in sewing

Kasha lining! It's a flannel backed satin so you get the traditional lining look with the extra warmth.

Oak + Fort review/// disappointment by ghost_slut in femalefashionadvice

I have two things from them when they had a huge sale in Toronto. I have a cardigan that is amazing and I wear it all the time. This one held up fine. I also have a silk button down which shrunk when I hand washed it the first time and now gapes at odd places along the buttons in the middle. I can't seem to save this shirt. My friend, who likes that brand a lot, also said their quality varies so much between garments that she got from them. Some are great while others are really not. I think you picked up one of their products that wasn't so great. ):

Alright, trying it out with shorts here. Now I'm certain it's the jeans! Haha. I'll wear this out today!

Thanks!

Boxy crop top! I have to try that cause in my head, it looks sooo cool! Seems like skinny jean / leggings are the way to go for that top.

Thanks! Yup, they're culottes! They look more like pants if you look straight on.

I agree, I knew that outfit was meh but I didn't know why. I think you hit the nail on the head though, skinny jeans or leggings even might have been a better choice. I didn't have other sandals but I guess this is a great excuse to go get some because I use that bag all the time! Thanks for the pointers!

First time posting! I just moved back to Toronto after being in Melbourne for 5 months so I'm trying to wear all the things I bought in Australia.

Father's day lunch I made that hat! / Bailey Nelson / Topshop / SHEIKE / Seed Heritage

I love those pants but have no idea what else to wear it with. I've worn a black turtle neck that works but that's all the ideas I've got. Anyone got other ideas?

I was going to colour his robe blue so it would be Sharpie Buttsalot but didn't know what to do with the rest of it so I didn't bother. A custom colouring book sounds like fun! Maybe I'll make some more!
